I feel stupid for this post...

I was seeing if someone could post a picture or a diagram of the fire control group disassembled of the Walther PPQ M1.

My PPQ finally stopped running due to the amount of sand and mud in it so I had to use a bottle of water to wash it out. To keep it from rusting and to get the grit out of the trigger, I detailed stripped it and disassembled the FCG to clean all the sand and water out when I got home. Long story short, once I put it back together I noticed a piece of "tubing" under the box/case of my new pin punches when putting up the tools. It could be from the plastic case, but my guess is it is from the gun since it had oil and a few grains of sand on it. This was not on my work bench before I disassembled the gun.

Picture of the odd piece.

I searched the Walther Forum and came across this thread.

In this image from the thread listed above, you see the rubber tubing below the arrow. I have that piece in the gun and the extra piece I have is a little wider and longer. Its the same plastic tubing material.

But all the images I looked at, I can not figure out where that piece goes.....

Gun seems to function (dry fire) but I have not shot it yet to see.

I found a diagram on the Walther forum. I asked this same question on that forum and people are saying that is NOT a part from the firearm.

Only thing I can think of is it was a piece of trash out of the box of the new roll pin punch set and when it landed on the work bench, it got oil and sand on it from the dirty firearm.

here is a link to the exploded view of the PPQ.

only part that even resembles the part is #32.7
which part 32.7 is in the gun and the FCG is assembled correctly.
my extra piece is a different size than 32.7

How many rounds did you have through the PPQ before it choked and how long do you estimated it had the extra part in there? I'd take it as a testament to the reliability of a pistol if it could go awhile with something like that piece of tubing floating around inside it.

It's a brand new gun or should I say was. I only have about 1/3 of a case through it. So probably 300 rounds that day at the range. It ran flawlessly first 10 mags so I decided to give it a run for it's money with a torture test.

It took a dunk in muddy water.... kept running. Then in the mud with the slide closed, kept running. Then in the sand with slide closed, kept running. Then tried it in sand and mud with slide open, had to clean out barrel but it kept running. The last thing was I field stripped the slide off then placed the lower and slide in the sand and rubbed them around. This finally caused the gun to choke. The gun was malfunction free up until this point. After that there was too much sand in the striker assemble in the upper to fire. The slide wouldn't operate from too much friction because of the sand and the trigger was beyond gritty. The trigger pull felt like 12-15 lbs. I barely got the slide back off the lower to give it a washing. After a bottle of water it was back to operating but you could still feel all the sand in the slide, trigger and FCG. I never had another malfunction after cleaning it out with water. I fired 5 mags after washing it.

The mag follower did stick in the bottom of the mag after the sand test but I just washed it out and it worked normal after that.

The plastic factory sights maintained zero. The gun was never oiled before or during the test.

The ultra sonic cleaner didn't help remove the sand so I had to detail strip it when I got home. Pistol preformed amazingly. Even through it only has around 300 rounds through it it looks like 10,000. The finish is worn from the sand, bottom of the slide has the finish polished off, front frame has a gouge in the plastic from a toss, top of barrel has a bare stop from the finish being removed. I would say the finish isn't as durable as a glocks, but All in all, I'm impressed.

I'm not sure it the part was in the gun while I was shooting it. Like I said before it could have been in the box with the punches. No way I'll know. I do like the gun better than my Glocks. I thought I would never say that.
With me being left handed, the slide release and the m1 mag release work great for me. The trigger is the best I've shot. And the grip fits my hand like a glove.
