In the below promo video for Front Sight, they appear to be pushing the Hawk 982 (a Remington 870 Express clone, although some maintain it's actually better made and more reliable than the current crop of Expresses). Seems you get one free with a certain training class.

Is the 982 that good or is this just some promotional gimmick?

Not sure if it was then Front Sight, but used to see adverts from Ignatius Piazza (believe he owns the school) offering Springfield XD variants if you signed up for training (if that tells you anything). No experience with the Hawk.

Front Sight is still around after the lawsuits and stupidity?

Piazza did "give away" XDs if you signed up for certain training courses. Use it there then have it shipped to your FFL when you leave.

I have that shotgun. It was $169 OTD at National Gun Day a long time ago.

The ghost rings are actually quite good- just pull all the screws and blue loctite them because they will back out.

My friends and I used to call it "the slugster" because it made it easy to print a pretty good group at distance with slugs. (Yeah, I know there's a Mossberg model actually called "the slugster.")

We had a lot of fun with that shotty back in the day...

After a-whole-lot of shells I broke the extractor and replaced it with a complete wingmaster bolt. I also cut back the left side of the pump to clear an Esstac card and added a bit of Magpul rail.
