Scope Mount Width Question

Using Badger's Unimount for example if you look at the specs on this page -

306-95 and 306-64 both have a height of 1.49" but the ring spacing is different. 306-95's overall length is 5" while 306-64 is 4.625".

If both of these mounts fit the scope are you better off with the shorter or longer unit?

Longer, so long as you maintain adequate spacing from the turret cluster or the objective or the lenses
