Anyone had a recent experience with this ammo? It will be fired from a 1911 pistol predominantly.

Thank you,

We bought a pallet of that ammo for the range I work at, a mix of 9 and 45. So far, it has been great ammo; reliable and accurate. I have seen thousands of rounds shot on the range through a variety of different guns with no problems. I would have no problem using it for classes practice, etc.

I haven't used any of their 45acp, but I have shot through: a couple cases of 9mm and .223, and thousands of .22lr. It has been really good for me.

I shot a case through a Colt CCG last year with no complaints. I was shooting some Sellier and Bellot at the same time, and I preferred the Geco. The powder charges seemed more consistent, less muzzle flash and less fouling than the S&B.

I've been quietly buying GECO for as long as they've been available. It started with about 5k rounds of their semi auto .22LR and 4k rounds of their 115gr 9mm... it's been flawless. 55gr 5.56, 230gr ACP, and 124gr 9mm all have worked without a single hiccup. I'd have no problem getting any of their products.

I think it is actually Swiss and RWS but it is good.

Thanks to all of you for your responses. I be shot quite a bit of the their 223 and it is good stuff.
I'll give the 45 and 9mm a chance.

Used Geco in .45 acp, 9x19, and 7.65mm/.32 acp. Never a problem, good ammo.

GECO makes very good ammo for 22LR-9mm and 45ACP.
I would not recommend their 223 ammo.

What issue did you have with their 223 ammo?

Agree with above posts, their 9mm ammo is just fine ... and inexpensive too!

I never had a malfunction in my M4, but bad accuracy.

I just got some of their .223 but I've been using their .38 super auto IPSC stuff. Nice and hot, accurate too out of my Colt government.

I've shot a bunch of Geco 45acp but the stuff I have is marked Germany. I couldn't tell you if all of it was or just the stuff I currently have.

Most of mine gets run through a M10 machine pistol with a lage upper. So far I can't think of any real issues with it that I haven't seen elsewhere. I've shot it through my M&P45 suppressed, my sig p220, and a few 1911's as well. Seemed to be fine.

I found the Geco 223 to be the most accurate FMJ in my weapons, and the Swiss made 9mm is just wonderful.

They have factories all over EU. I have boxes made in Switzerland, Germany, Hungry and even some that just say "made in EU"

I have tried, the 22LR, 9mm, 45acp, and 5.56.............it's all seemed like good stuff to me, with excellent brass in the centerfire rounds to reload afterwards.

The 5.56 was more accurate out of the two (PSA Premium midlength and mini-14) of my rifles I tried it in than Federal xm193. It was the most accurate 5.56 powered factory ammo I ever put through my mini-14, either it was the ammo, or I was on fire shooting that thing that day LOL. I should stack it deep for the mini, but I have not. The mini, as well as all my AR's shoot well with my handloads, so it's tough to justify right now.

One of my 10-22's LOVED the 22LR ..........I mean one ragged hole kind of love, which shocked me. This 10-22 is an odd bird, it loved the Geco, and it's next favorite ammo is Remington Golden Bullets out of the 1400 rd tubs, and while it will run an anything (all my 10-22s run on whatever I put in them), it shoots some of the ammo the other ones like kind of crappy, esp. the Winchester stuff in the 555, or 333 bulk packs. I wish I had more of the Geco, but I bought it 2-3 years ago at the height of the 22 shortage around here, and at the time it was the ONLY 22 my LGS had. The kids and I blasted through all of it, and I never saved the packaging, and haven't seen it since............but all the regular 22 plinking fodder has been back and in good supply for a while now around here, but I wish I could find/get more of the GECO locally.

The 45 and 9mm are nothing special, just good cheap blasting ammo. It is not the best shooting ammo in any of my handguns, but is reliable and accurate enough.
