Just trying to confirm the recommended torque specification on the rings when mounting a Leupold Mark 6, 1-6 in a Larue LT104?

Thanks.

I've read larue recommends 30 inch pounds. I stopped it 20 and they seemed really tight. David

The Bobro spec for 34mm is 28-30.

I can't find my LaRue documentation but would be surprised if it varies widely between mounts.

I only have 15 & 25 torque drivers, so my Bobro's and Larue 34mm mounts are set to 25 and I have zero issues.

ETA: 25 is purty darn tight and my MK6 1-6 is sitting on a 34mm LaRue.

Just confirming. I have mine in the mount set at 25, but I have a weird haze, almost like a fingerprint or smudge. I recently had sent my Mark 6 in to Leupold for service and they replaced the front lens. I got it back and it had this weird smudge, but I didn't notice the smudges until I remounted the optic on my SR-15. It seemed as if the smudge is inside the optic. I obviously did a good cleaning and it did not help. I called Leupold and they said to send it in. So I un-mounted it and looked through the optic and the smudge was gone.... Very weird... So I put it back in the mount and the smudges re-apperaed. It's just very weird. I don't think 25 inch lbs worth of tourque could be causing any issues, so I don't know what is going on... I don't want to send it in and have Leopold say there's nothing there...

Here is the mounting procedure and torque values for your mount. The bottom screws are supposed to go all the way in first, then do the top screws last.

The smudge is weird. I don't know what to think about that.

That is certainly weird? You should be fine at 25 in my experience.

Send it in with the mount attached or call and talk to someone who might have seen this before and know where the problem lies would be my two suggestions.

That's the game plan. I have to call them tomorrow. I didn't mention that there's also what seems to be an "oil stain" in the glass too... All very strange. I just wanted to confirm that I hadn't over torqued it.

It would be best to get the rings torque value for your particular scope as opposed to the mount. They can vary greatly at times.
