I have a Colt 6920 with the front sight post. I currently have the MI extended carbine quad rail installed. I have been looking and can't seem to find any keymod variations that would fit, extended or regular carbine length. Any ideas?

I've got two of those in midlength. One on a BCM and one on a Sionics. They work pretty well.

Close. I'm looking for that size but in keymod or mlok 2 piece free float. I can't use the drop in anymore.

They do. Fortis is only one example.

Or you can chop your own.. Not sure how good of an idea that is.

Strike Industries also makes a factory made one.

Sounds like you want to keep your mil-spec barrel nut? If so disregard what I'm about to recommend. If it was me, I'd go with a Geissele SMR MK 4 (https://geissele.com/13-super-modular-rail-mk4-m-lok.html) or SMR MK8 (https://geissele.com/13-super-modular-rail-mk8-m-lok.html). They are available from a number of sources and are a really solid platform.

There's always an easier / cheaper solution but usually I'd regret not getting the right part the first time and end up spending more time and money down the road to do it the right way. Just trying to save you the aggravation.

If the OP did want to keep the standard barrel nut, I'd recommend Troy. However, I highly recommend that you remove the barrel nut correctly, disassemble the delta ring assembly, and reinstall the barrel nut. Because of this procedure of removing the barrel nut, I only suggest handguards that use proprietary barrel nuts since the standard barrel nut was not designed to be used with free floating handguards.

Was ignorant of that one. Pretty good looking piece though...

Neither KeyMod, M-LOK, or Extended, but it would be a lighter setup than what you have now.
