I've had mine in for about 3 months at this point and the Gen2s made some big improvenmts over the originals IMO and not a single part from the Gen1 is present in the Gen2.
Improvements:
-detent in bale and mode switch
-true 1913 rail
-new beam pattern (see video)
-400 & 800 lumen output
-improved pad
-aluminum bezel
-aluminum threads
-improved material in the body

I enjoyed your review, very informative as always. Inforce seems to be on the right track with the Gen 2.
Can't watch the video at work, so I apologize if you mention this. Do you know of any plans to improve the APL as well?

I'd like to know of any plans to update the APL as well. I watched the video but do not remember it being mentioned so apologies up front if it was.
Very pleased with the gen 2 based on this review though!

Thanks for the review, but its going to take awhile before I try them again after having 2 wmls crack and then fail on me.

Light, Bright, and ergonomic.
Great review, may have to pick one of these up for my shorty build when it's finished.

Used to own several of the Gen1 WMLx's, all of them cracked where the bezel screws into the body. While Inforce replaced them promptly, I lost trust in the durability of the design.
This Gen2 WMLx has sufficient improvements that I'm going to try a couple of them again (fingers crossed).

I was all set to grab a gen 2 xml through the PA sale earlier this week but they went fast! Still on the lookout for any sales since this is the light I am set on.
Anyone now how to mount this at a 45 degree angle so it's at 10-11 or 1-2 o'clock?
If using a KMR, would a pic rail section work on the angled flat work, i.e. would there be enough clearance between the light body and the top rail?
If using an NSR (no angled flats) is there some offset adapter rail that would work?
Thanks, and great review, Mr.G&G
