I can't find a log book with chronology data I did a while back.

I tested a bunch of 55 grain stuff in various rifles.

All I remember for sure is that between Wolf Gold, PMC Bronzed, XTAC, AE, etc. is that XTAC was the most consistent in velocity and accuracy.

Some ammo listed as 223 actually had 556 velocities.

But for the AE,
I cannot remember if the 223 vs 556 had the same velocities, the expected differences, or far less fps differences than they should.

Thanks.

AE is roughly 200 fps slower if I remember correctly. I suppose it's depend on lot variances from each. I've had some really steamy lots of XM193... nearly 3300 fps out of a 20" AR.

Steamiest I ever had was gray box Norinco I finally used up. Out of my SP1
That was the closest 55 grain velocities to my 225 Winchester.

I will come across the book sooner or later. That may be why I remember three things blurrily,
Expected differences in my 18, 20 inch guns.
Little difference 14.5 to 16,
Virtually none 10 to 12.
