I've seen a few social media posts and other websites about people wanting to move to Canada. You've probably seen some too.

Do people really think its better up there? The grass is not always greener on the other side. The posts are probably more of a joke or sarcasm. I doubt people are really going to leave the country.

Don't get me wrong, Canadian people are great and they have a beautiful country. But they also have their issues and disadvantages. Just wanted to see what some of your thoughts on this are.

Probably not, but last night during the election I heard the Canadian immigration website crashed, so who knows.

But I say if they are, don't forget to renounce your US citizenship

Here is the thing, these Celebrities aren't going anywhere.
That they have let their mouths over ride their abilities was likely made apparent to any of them who consulted their accountants this morning with an idea of actually following through.
I have this feeling that Canada is going to ask for a little more cash come tax time and have fewer way for these Mopes to hide their money.
Some Accountant in a Mr Rodger sweater likely laughed out loud when those guys thought that was going to work for them.

Canadian income tax is horrible, much worse than ours. And so is their very affordable socialist health care. We would be heading toward their tax and health care if the democrats got their ways and they did for the last 8 years. I have many friends and relatives in the Montreal, Quebec side of Canada.

Better than that- I've come across stuff about Northeast and West Coast secession to Canada.

I didn't know the person well enough to post this pic, but I say giddy up:

It's Trudeau.

Dude is sexy as hell and sensitive at the same time. He can do magic tricks and play instruments and perform acrobatics.

Can I set up one of those Twitter bots so that I can just put in the names of all those celebrities so every time they tweet something the Bot just tweets back "you're still here?"

I hope all those celebrity assholes move to another country. I'll be damned if I pay to see any of their works made after today.

I think a lot of these people mean it "seriously" right now, but lack the depth, wisdom or emotional maturity to make adult decisions. Even if they are in their 40's and beyond. Our culture has made it easy to get "far in life" without really being a grown-up. Very few of them will follow through, and half the ones who try will go illegally and eventually get the boot.

As someone who's spent 95% of my life in a Canadian border state, and through age 18 visited Toronto far more often than any US big city, I think Canada is a nice country, with nice people, and problems very similar to those of some US border states. If I were a refugee or immigrant from a 3rd world country I would happily move to Canada. Coming from the US, not so much. Canadian problems:
-limited jobs - barely enough for native Canadians, not enough to absorb a million US losers
-resource-driven economy, similar to North Dakota - extremely sensitive to commodity cycles, which never stop
-existing immigration pressures, especially in Vancouver and Quebec, with related social problems
-the high tax rates
-the "free" health care system that works for some things but not for others. If you're young and healthy it's probably good, but if you're older and have any conditions it may not keep you alive.

Canada is a great neighbor, and if I was born there I would probably stay. But viewed realistically it isn't some utopia.

They all said the same thing if George W. Bush was elected President, including Alec Baldwin. None of them moved. They couldn't fathom the higher taxes they'd have to pay and couldn't leave their beloved L.A. or NYC.

The problem we face is they are moving to swing states. Look at Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, New Hampshire etc. The "white flight", "urban sprawl" or what ever you want to call it is no longer local. When the white yuppie libtards move they move to conservative red states.

Agree 100%.

When the white yuppie libtards move they move to conservative red states.

And they do it largely because the blue states have become miserable and unlivable under the Dem policies, yet the people who leave them vote for the same destructive policies in their new states. It's like suicide in glacially slow motion.

The Canadian website going down is so perplexing.

All these people wanting to find out how to legally move to Canada...

Because they can't live with a President so "racist" he only wants people to immigrate lawfully to the USA...

Shouldn't they just expect a liberal "enlightened" country like Canada to grant them amnesty?

Yeah it's pretty simple. Put on your big girl panties, walk across the border and demand to receive free benefits. That's how it's supposed to work in your universe, right?

Did 8 months living & working in London, Ontario. Wasn't horrible, but enough to get a good understanding of how Canadians really live. No thanks, I'll take the US. One of my colleagues married a Canadian and transferred to our plant in Stratford, ON. The taxes and fees were a real shock to him.

So many people tried to access the immigration site, it crashed. There's worse places to live for sure, but I'd prefer warmer climate:

reality both countries are more similar than not but IMHO they are further down the road where we could be if liberals keep getting their way

prices taxes and other things are quite a bit more the medical system is hit or miss and while cheap ironic how when other leaders around the world including canada they come here !!!

she was more happy trump won than me I think :)

People like socalism, until its time to pay for it.

Oddly, everyone I've ever met that thinks it's great has never actually visited a socialist country.

Enjoy getting to only keep about 40%of what you make. Surgery takes about 6 months to get done in Brazil.

Canada eh. I have Canadians in my family. They don't seem to want to go back either. It's So awesome that , "nah, I'd rather live here....." Is the response.

One of my female friends (who obviously voted for HC) is serious about moving up there. She is a young late 20's, divorced, with 2 young children, and latina if that matters. Pretty illogical thinking really--how do you think you can move your entire life and your 2 young children to another country that easily?

Its mostly knee-jerk reactions, same as some of those celebrities who said they would move as well. Go ahead, I say. I prefer to keep my freedoms here anyday.

These people threatening moving to Canada are all racist. Why aren't we moving to Mexico? Or why not France or Germany or Norway? Could it be there's too many Mexicans in Mexico or Muslims in France, Germany and Norway?

Put it up or shut it up.

My father was a Canuck... I have a few family members in Quebec still (most others moved to upstate NY) and I have some friends in the BC area. Thanks to the AF, I have spent considerable time in Goose Bay and Alberta.
I truly love the Canadian people. The govt sucks though. I perceive a big divide between east and west, French and British. They have the same right/left paradigm as well. For reasons already mentioned, taxes and etc., I wouldn't go there. Especially gun rights. The liberals in the east forced gun control down the throats of everyone. And there are many remote places where folks need to be armed. (We don't have polar bear attacks here!) To be fair, one can get a bolt action that is bear medicine, but it isn't easy and self preservation arms can't be had legally.

Many of the people threatening to go to Canada couldn't survive one good winter.
Can you see Katy Perry's happy ass going from Venice Beach to the Northwest Territory? Note to pampered liberals: it doesn't get warmer further north.

What's hilarious is that they can't even fathom how truly racist they are. There's nothing so blind as a liberal who's convinced of their own moral superiority.

What's hilarious is that a liberal feels they have the latitude to lecture anyone on morals or ethics. Really? They feel they can pontificate on what someone else does?

Remember the flak Trump got when he said he might question the results? The left lost, and now they want to bitch about the rules of the game. Rules they knew going in.
