Gentlemen,

I was lucky enough to get one of the recently available 6400Cs. Seeing as how I'll most likely be swapping out the "fixed" telestock for an A2....

Are new Colt A2 style stocks easy to find? I haven't even started to look...I just figured I'd ask here first.

Don't they use the designation "CS"?

I've got an Ace Skeleton stock--which is beautiful--on my BM, but I'd like to keep this new rifle pure Colt. It's just a thing with me.

There are plenty of A2 stocks around. Both new & used. My favorite gun shop had a large box full of slightly used one that they swapped out for customers to collapsible stocks when the federal ban expired.

The CS is not an A2 stock. It was A1 length stock (using newer A2 material). It came on a Colt rifle called the Sporter Lightweight. I'm guessing that the CS means Colt Sporter.

Colt made(#6 is complete A2 stock, but still need #1, 2, 3, 13, 16): http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/Schematics/SchemMFg.aspx?schemid=803

Bushmaster also sells A2 stocks (about halfway down page): http://www.bushmaster.com/products.asp?cat=13

I guess that you know that you will have to replace the extension tube with a buffer tube (shown in photo above).

Perhaps you might want to consider an A1 stock with an A2 butt plate. Same
Colt quality and a wee bit shorter and handier. Just a thought.

Yeah, seeing as how I can buy these things part by part. You might be on to something.

If you know where I can get a Colt A1......
