Award winners for best optics and hunting gear for 2016

Coming from OP, I'm assuming it's based on sales volume?

Two things that quickly jump out is that Trijicon got RDS brand of the year and Blackhawk got Holster brand of the year. Probably because the MRO came out this past year and it's the newest shiny object in the RDS world, but I wouldn't call it the "best" compared to Aimpoints.

And Blackhawk winning holster of the year, I got nothing.
