So I've read all kinds of mixed reviews on this so I went to the store to check it out.

Did not see a dot at all... The gander employee who at first was looking for the on button asked the other employee about it to which he said it doesn't work with the stores tube lighting.

Any thoughts?

That model never got any traction. To many other options out there that work.

I actually really liked mine when I had it from 2009-2012, but found the 6.5 MOA dot too big for 200 yard + shooting. The RX34 with 4.5 MOA dot would be better.
That said, I think that there are better options out there today. Trijicon's fiber optic and tritium operation works great in the ACOG, but not as well in the reflex series. The RMR isn't bad for dual illumination, but if I were getting a red dot style optic, I'd get the MRO.

Thanks for the responses. It's pretty doubtful that I'll be buying one. I just hadn't heard of any one saying it didn't work under tube lighting.

I have the 34 with amber triangle. My dad got it back when he worked for colt in the late 90's it still works and does so in multiple lighting conditions. The triangle makes for a finer aiming point compared to the dot. It's good but I feel like there are better options like the mro or rmr's.
