3 weeks into the 2017 legislative session in Illinois brings a fury of anti gun legislation. This proposed legislation adds various taxes on your gun purchases and expands the gun free zones in Illinois. http://www.gunrights4illinois.com/blog/100th-general-assembly-brings-fury-anti-gun-legislation-proposed-illinos/

Yeah this year is going to be real interesting. Alot of antig un bills filed, but this year we are going on the offense. ALOT of pro gun bills have also been filed in Illinois. I made a new video to show people how to get involved in Illinois Gun Rights this legislative session... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMut1PBmpbk&t=2s

People should be watching Senate Bill 1657 closely. If enacted, it will adversely affect several hundred small business owners and over 2.1 million firearm owners.

Rock River Arms and Springfield Armory are catching a lot of heat over the bill. Their support for the bill was the impetus for people to start digging up information about both companies. Information has come to light about the IFMA and their support for anti-Second Amendment politicians.

People had better start calling their Congressmen and Representatives and voicing their concerns about this piece of legislation.

I'm glad it died (for now) and I am glad SA and RRA ended up doing the right thing after absolutely dropping the ball big time.

I'm not from Illinois but I get pretty good info and feedback on what's going on there legislation-wise. My impression, recent years: the gun controllers are on their heels, feeling the heat from real, everyday Illinoisans, and finding that lies and shrill emotional rhetoric are no longer as effective against commons sense and truth. Their curtain of BS is dissipating. But-- as always, let up on the pressure and they will rebound like cockroaches.

Would it be too far off to say that Illinois is the California of the Midwest? If that is so, with the advancements made in recent years, IL can be seen as an example and might just represent a tipping point in helping relieve the legislative constipation in states further east. Good job people, keep it up!

Illinois certainly is the California of the Midwest but we have made alot of progress on our gun rights. There was once a time not very long ago at all, that Chicago was far worse than anywhere in California. That is no longer the case.

Having said that the anti gun crowd is getting more and more organized with the funneling in of Bloomberg money. They can't be discounted.

Illinois Legislative Session Begins Today and your help is NEEDED to stop multiple gun bans! These bans include banning nearly all semi auto rifles and accessories such as bump stocks and trigger improvements, even firearm lubrication!

I'm surprised that this thread isn't breathing air again. At last count, Illinois has proposed over 120 "gun control" bills since the beginning of this year. Why does "precedent" not apply to the 2nd amendment in these cases? For example, if residents have legally owned a particular firearm or magazine for decades how can it be constitutional to outlaw their ownership now.

Last count there were 123 pieces of legislation restricting firearm ownership proposed in 2019. IGOLD is March 27th. Go to the ISRA website and check on bus transportation to the rally in Springfield.

We have an uphill fight on our hands with the Democrats controlling the House, Senate and Governor's seat. Governor Priztker will sign anything they put on his desk.

Many of those pieces of legislation have been tabled for now. Willis has introduced an "omnibus" bills, a wet dream for civilian disarmament advocates. That's probably going to be the hot topic of this legislative session.

I'll be at IGOLD for the second year in a row, but tbh it's more of a hollow gesture at this point. My elected officials (Will County) hate guns and don't give a rat's ass about my grievances. And I have no plans to comply with the unconstitutional crap they're pushing.

A broke state like IL can't enforce these laws; we'll have even lower compliance rates than CT and NY.
