I have a form of color vision deficiency. Not exactly colorblind, I can see colors. But there are some that I have trouble distinguishing when taking formal color tests. Think during physicals for jobs, military, &c.

I came upon a thing called ColorMax, that supposedly can aid in seeing color. At least enough to pass color vision tests.

Has anyone heard of this, or have experience? Is it real? Or just a scam?

It would be nice, because it would open a lot of doors for me in regards to employment. But I don't want to get my hopes up.

Thanks

Enchroma is the company that I hear mentioned and not saying the other is not legit :)

I can't pass the Ishihara test to save my life. But I can see colors, probably similar to your condition. Knowing this I went to the Indiana University Optometry school (1986) as I was a student and about to begin my law enforcement career. They fitted me with a hard lense contact. It was a shade of red and it allowed me to see and pass the test. However I had a Terminator looking eye. There are other color blind or deficiency tests, like the Farnsworth D15, if my memory is correct, that is more accurate. However the Ishihara seems to be the standard and it is the easiest to administer. So, I think this idea has been around for a while.
