m16 or ar15

whats the difference in bcg's between the two. can i use an m16 in an ar15. is it better?

M16 carrier has more material at the rear, and a fully shrouded firing pin. It is also heavier, slowing down the cycling speed. It is legal to have a full auto carrier in a semi auto gun.
