I am in the process of piecing together a range queen and I am debating getting the Young's MFG hard chrome BCG. I see they have a "National Match" version of their chrome BCG that is 1/2 oz heavier than their standard chrome BCG (both M16).

Would there be any advantage to that extra 1/2 oz for a longish range (600 yards max) bench rest target gun? I will be installing a 20" Noveske heavy barrel with a rifle gas system and most likely an H-buffer.

Thanks for the help.

No advantage. A half ounce on a rifle gas system isn't going to make a difference.

Are you running a Carbine stock on a 20 inch barrel?

Most likely, I will probably pick up a Magpul CTR stock kit.

OK. Then your weight concerns will be with the buffer. The half ounce diff in the Carrier is insignificant. I forget what the suggested buffer weight is for that combo.

Thanks a lot for the info. I will do some research into the buffer.
