SYNOPSIS:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Looking forward to it, but the original is one of the few DVDs I actually own.

Cool... Hope they don't screw it up. The original is one of my favorites of all time.

Oh good now we get to see Deckard as a septegenarian running around fighting replicants....

Weeeeee.....

This wont be like TFA at all.

There already WAS a Blade Runner sequel. Soldier.

Kurt Russell fought the Shoulder of Orion and at the beginning they briefly show the Tannhauser Gate battle.
Only he didnt wax poetic about it

So I assume we will see if Ridley Scott will explore the whole Deckard is a replicant fan theory.

The clues in the teaser I would say he is that is why he went off-grid for thirty years.

I have no idea as to the plot but I think we might see an angle where AI is replacing humans with replicants.

Here's the worst part about getting old.

The original film was set in 2019 and here we damn near are. No city skylines emitting burning gases, no flying cars and no "pleasure model" replicants. Shit we don't even have decent Japanese fast food.

Depends on where you live :)
Yeah, Realdolls aren't really like replicants - more like shower-safe mannequins.

Westworld kinda put me off sexaroids.

And do you really want drive thru Sushi? They dont do that in Japan. They have kebab things from vending machines but meh. Oddly enough they treat KFC like it was Olive Garden, or did 10 years back

I still want a Dita Von Teese sexbot. YES. I don't care.

And drive thru sushi, probably not, but tasty noodles in broth - hell yeah.

When I visited O'ahu there was a Japanese noodle restaurant that had a line that would go down the block.

Now I REALLY feel old. Actually watched the running man on Netflix a couple weeks ago. Really brought back some memories.

Wanna feel SUPER old?

Go listen to Prince's 1999 then go watch Time Cop which took place in the far off future of 2004. Yep, them Sony MiniDiscs took right off they did. So did them blocky self driving cars

I'm lucky to live in an area with at least a dozen ramen places around.
LOL, that review would be under the 'pay per view' section.

Back topic - Blade Runner was probably my favourite sci-fi movie when I was growing up; even more so than Star Wars. I liked the haunting soundtrack, after being introduced to Vangelis in 'Chariots of Fire' the year before. Had a crush on Sean Young back then, of course.

I even visited the Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles when i first got married; my wife didn't really understand my excitement at standing in the lobby, as i imagined it unlit on a cold rainy night, rather than bright and cheerful in the sunlight.

We're already way past Roy Batty's incep date...

I've watched countless hours of Matlock....I've seen very reasonable early bird specials at Shoney's. Soon all those memories will be lost..in time... from Old Timer's like my car keys when I can't remember where I put them after sitting down. Time......to lie down.

Well if that isn't the final nail in the "you're old" coffin I don't know what is.

I've seen that place. Ones got to love the Japanese. They fly 10 hours, covering 5000 miles so They can, wait for it... Eat Japanese food and be surrounded by Japanese people.

The Nipponese are a curious folk.

They will spend thousands and travel out of their own country just to play golf because it is cheaper than playing it where they actually live.

Anytime people get pissy about the US, go get in your car, drive anywhere you want, shoot guns, go fly a kite, and stretch your legs.

Bammo. You are automatically ahead of 99% of the world.

Never been to Hawaii but Japan was like going 20 minutes into the future populated by robot aliens. And this was some years ago. Also if you are allergic to seafood, I got bad news for you ...

I will say if you are a black dude and into Asian girls, you are gonna be in tang heaven. Neither of which applied to me

Also after a few days you get this "you don't belong here" vibe. On day 2 of a 4 day trip. I bro-hugged the first black guy I saw. He was some East African dude who looked like the host from Zoobilee Zoo but it felt good.

Also not hearing loud gangster rap or random gunfire at night made it hard to sleep. As did the small furniture.

But they DO take pride in their dirty books and Hello Kitty so it all comes out in the end

Very true. Been to Japan many times. Yes, I'm allergic to seafood, but in all honesty just like they copy everything we manufacture and improve on it, the best Italian food I've had anywhere in the world was in Japan. Very easy to find, and blows away anything you can find in Europe.

Looks pretty cool. Not sure if it will be better than the original though. The cast is seems solid.
