View Full Version : LMT Gas piston pics!
Just got two rifles in today and snapped some quick pics.
The guns look much better to me than they did at shot show. The BCG looks fantactic and believe they did everythig right. They also send the gun with an H2 buffer which I thought was interesting.

I don't know why it is but every piston AR I've ever shot seems to feel best with a H2 weight buffer.

Agree. What is funny is that a lot of piston manufacturers want to use carbine buffers in them and I always think I am shooting a much larger caliber than .223.

UHHH since we're guessing, is it something having to do with the attachment of the gas block???
I dont know, thats all I got.
C'mon man the suspense is killing me! :D

They added a sling swivel to the end of the rail (as opposed to just the one that used to be only where the barrel nut would normally be).

what’s the price point on these, also do you know when if they will be available as just uppers?
These are nice. Just buy one you won't be sorry. I want one, how much are they?
When are the gas piston conversions coming out for the MRP and how much is it going to cost?

The conversion kits cost $672.80. That price is from their "Retail Price List, Effectve 1 Feb. 2008. That includes either a S/A or F/A BCG (your choice) and a 16" chromed lined barrel. This will only be available for the CQB version of the MRP.
Don't know when though. It took me 8 months exactly from when I ordered mine to pick up date...I'm thinking that they are extremely busy filling back orders and when they get caught up with those, they will be suppling the kits and uppers.

What it comes down to is if you want a gas piston AR or not.

Is that price for the complete guns or just the uppers?

Complete. You get the SOPMOD and the LMT front and rear BUIS's.

Grant gave you the list for the complete rifle. The price for the uppers are $1440.95. For that you get the CQB Piston Top End with 16" chrome barrel, and either S/A or F/A bolt group (your choice) along with the charging handle.:D
They also list the CQB Piston Barrel Assembly, 16" Chrome Lined for $346.00. I assume this is for future caliber changes if you already have the rifle/upper. Of course, you will have to purchase a different bolt for the caliber changes.

Sweet! So do the complete guns come with SA or FA bolt groups?

Mine came with the S/A BCG which is I believe standard. The uppers/kits can be ordered with either the S/A or F/A BCG. In this particular case with the added 'pads' on the rear of the BCG and what appears to be heavier/thicker all around metal, it might not make too much difference between the two carriers in terms of weight...;)

interesting how the gas block is attached. looks like a wraparound the barrel from the bottom and pin in the middle through the bbl? must make for a snug fit.

Hmm - it looks like the production version differs a bit from the photos that were posted at Kiesler Defense (http://www.kiesler.com/defense/productdetail.aspx?cat=1068&pid=19621). In particular, the Bolt Carrier Group. Looks like LMT was originally coating the whole BCG similarly to their Enhanced AR15 Bolt. I wonder what made them change their mind.
Check out more of the LMT Piston pictures here::D:D:D

Some great pictures of the Piston BCG compared to their own DI version. To me it looks like their piston bolt carrier is made up thicker and therefore might act much like their F/A DI version (extra weight)!!!!!
Any idea when you'll have some of these in stock?
