The Philippine President is just not the guy who's going to play these games with ISIS.

Oh he'll play games alright, but not ones that the terrorists will like.

If you're a westerner and you're anywhere near a resort in the PI this week, you're an idiot. This attack was 100% foreseeable. :(

With no disrespect to the victims intended, this might actually get good.

Truer words were never spoken!

Here's hoping their president opens up a total can of whoop ass on ISIS. The Philippine's have been a radical hotbed for years. My uncle sells and leases heavy equipment overseas. He went to the Philippines fifteen or so years ago, and he and his guys were barracked at a Philippine Army base, and escorted by Philippine soldiers when checking on the equipment. He e-mailed me a bunch of pictures of the base they were staying at. They even had an OV-10 Bronco among the Huey's that were there. Sorry, but the Philippine's are not on my vacation travel list for sure.

I work with some retired Army guys who are still planning on taking their yearly PI trip later this month. :(

If they avoid touristy places and anywhere they speak gringo on a regular basis, they'll probably be OK. These IS types want high value targets like resorts and bars/clubs that primarily serve foreign customers.

In that case they might be fine :sarcastic: ...from the stories they tell me I'm pretty sure they have second families over there.

Or the kind of games the rest of the world community likes either. Well except maybe the Israelis....

Maybe he didn't shoot anyone, but 36 six dead from suffocation.

At least 36 people suffocated at a resort in the capital of the Philippines Friday after a gunman set several gambling tables on fire in what appeared to be a botched robbery, police said. The gunman was found dead in an adjacent hotel room of an apparent suicide.

I'll be going to the Manila area in July with my wife and her family so I can meet her grandparents and other relatives. I'm not worried about all this stuff but I will have my head on a swivel and probably get my hands on some "protection" once I get there, even if it's just a blade. But that's SOP for me traveling the world regardless.

Yeah, seems the gun was jumped. Glad it wasn't another Mumbai.
