I am looking at a Criterion 6mm creedmoor barrel for my 243 Ruger Precision rifle. It is my understanding that Criterion is Krieger's OEM barrel division, and they make button-rifled barrels instead of single-point cut ones. Is that correct?

Any general thoughts on their quality/value? Would it be at least as good as the factory barrel?

I had a criterion Varmint profile 6.5 creed on a Savage bolt gun.

It shot well under .5 MOA with factory 140 eld's.

I'm willing to bet if I had that gun still and my reloads I could clover leaf groups with it like my Bartlien does.

I've had great results with .308 and .223 Criterion barrels in AR platform.
Both shot under 3/4 MOA with decent factory ammo.

I have a Criterion 6.5CM on my RPR with no issues to report. Is much more accurate than I am currently capable of being.

Good morning,

Thank you for considering us for your upcoming RPR rebarrel project! Although we have had a long and positive relationship with Krieger Barrels (we formerly shared a production facility) we are two separate companies under completely different ownership.

We do offer a satisfaction guarantee on each Criterion barrel sold, so if you find your barrel does not meet your desired accuracy requirements we are always more than happy to help troubleshoot, repair, or replace a barrel if you so desire. All other factors considered (load quality, furniture selection, and component fitment all accounted for), a Criterion barrel should be able to outperform a factory Ruger barrel.

If you would like to look over a couple customer reviews regarding our various different types of pre-fit barrels, feel free to follow any of the below links:

They are great barrels, especially considering the cost. Satisfied customer here.
