Hi all:
I have an AR that I built myself a couple of years ago. I hung an AB Stoner 16" 1:7 ( the usual ). This barrel is OK, but nothing special and I'd like to put another barrel on it to get into some better accuracy. I've looked into it and am familiar the the expensive barrels - the ones in $300+ range. I don't want to spend that much.
Green Mountain has a great looking barrel with great specs for a damn good price ( $170 ) but it's an 18" and I don't want to go to that length. They don't really have anything in the 16" range.
SO, could anyone recommend a quality barrel in the sub $200.

Thanks for any replies

AR Performance has sub-$200 barrels that (in my experience) are of excellent quality. I have not used their 5.56 barrels, but both of my ARP 6.8x43 barrels yield velocities significantly higher than other makers barrels, with good accuracy.

To the OP, for your budget there are many good options. The first place I would look is Faxon or Ballistic Advantage. Both firms are highly respected barrel makers at your price point.
