Guests at an amusement park in Queensbury, NY, stood tall to catch a 14 year old girl that fell 25' from a "Sky Ride". Kudos to the younger brother for holding onto her as long as he could so people could react in time to catch her. We salute you.

As impressed as I am with the people who caught her, I equally dislike the lady videoing.

Faith in humanity partially restored.

Ya know, if you do three like that in your entire lifetime, you have earned a good life.

Obvious its good for the girl's sake but also her little brother now does not have to live with the fact that he couldn't hold on to his sister and watch her fall to her death. The little guy is a hero too for trying with all of his might. Glad this one ended well.

The heros on the ground were also in danger, a fall from that height onto a head and or spine can generate some serious bodily injuries.

I would like to think any able bodied person would do the same, but that doesn't seem to be the way of the world anymore.

How did the ride fail?

How did the ride fail?

According the article it didn't, she some how slipped from under the lap bar. No seat belts on ride, it cleared an inspection after this incident.

Police: Girl's actions caused her to fall from NY park ride

A teenage girl's actions, not mechanical malfunctions, caused her to slip under a restraining bar on an amusement park gondola ride before falling into the arms of bystanders below, police said Monday.

Kids, if they want to, can get out of most anything. The trick is being smart enough to know you don't want to stand up in a roller coaster and things like that. And if you aren't smart enough to take care of yourself, sometimes your stupidity can serve as a "why there is a lap bar" example for others.

Glad she didn't get hurt, that age can have an unforgiving learning curve.
