Different QD sizes?

I recently tried to install my VCAS on a couple different weapons that had too small of a socket to accept the push button QD sling swivel on the VCAS. I was a little surprised as I had no idea this was not a standard deal. So where do I find these smaller sling swivels? Or should I avoid them and change out the necessary component with larger socket altogether?

I am with you. Why in the world would Qd be different? Beyond me.
