Based off VA_Dinger's thread ( http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=19615 ), I'm considering buying a P7 "just because." This wouldn't be a carry gun, but rather a "pass down to the kids" gun and/or a BBQ gun. I'm torn as to which model I should get. Let's hear what your favorite model is!

Thanks,
Jason

If you are not going to carry, and want something interesting/neat to show the kids/grandkids, then a blued P7M10 would be it. Ugly as sin, but it's the rarest of the ones listed. Not too bad of a shooter too. Nickel M10's are much more common, and thus not as collectable.

In terms of shooting guns though, the M8 is easier for me to handle and shoot, and certainly is easier if ccw is what you want.

Ram Engineer,

I would go with the P7M8 or P7PSP. This is mainly due to the relative ease of finding magazines for the M8 and PSP vs. the M10 and M13. Also, while the PSP tends to be one of the easier variants to find nowadays, it does have the European magazine release located on the butt of the pistol. This makes magazine changes, for me, more difficult. While the M8 is slightly harder to find, they do have the familiar "American" magazine release, which I find to make mag changes / reloads much easier. If the mag release doesn't bother you, then the PSP is usually cheaper and easier to find. If you prefer a standard mag release and don't mind a little higher price, go with the M8. Hope this helps.:D

The M8 also has the heat shield inside the trigger guard that the PSP lacks.

M8 all the way. Ergonomic, American mag release, heat shield ... and it's great for calling a guy's bluff when he says he can't give you the code.

P7 (PSP form factor) for carry.

P7M8 for a working/training piece.

Picked up my M13 today. Couldn't be happier- well, I could have gotten two Grade A PSPs for the price but screw it :p

I really like the mag release- it's very quick for me.

Magazines- I can't complain. I see more M13 mags for sale than M8s. $191 for two is the best price i've seen- basically almost 50% more for these mags than M8 mags but they are available, brand new, in HK wrapper and they hold +1 more than 50% extra too ;)

Haven't fired it yet. Shop and range was closed when I picked it up. My FFL's son was found shot in his upstairs apartment the morning before. :(

Rest in Peace Nathan

But it would have to be with the slim slide. I have only seen one of those over a decade ago and could not reason why he wanted $1500 for it. If I'd only have known....
