I'm still kinda new at shooting. I was wondering what the best kind of ammo is I should use. I have a DPMS M4. I haven't done anything to it...yet. Just barebones right now and I want to make sure i'm shooting the good stuff.

Any help would be great!

I have the same rifle. I have been shooting Federal AE .223 55gr fmj, Winchester .223 55gr fmj, Winchester Q3131 and Q3131A both 5.56, with no problems.

If your DPMS "M4s" have the "match" chamber, then you may have better reliability with SAAMI-spec .223 Rem. ammo than with NATO-spec 5.56x45mm. What is "best" depends upon your requirements.

My barrel is marked 5.56.

I have been using AIM Surplus Radway Green Ammunition with great success all summer. It's GB's equivalent to M855 just without the green tip. 720 rounds for $139. 62gr. Steel core and it's pretty damn accurate with my 16" WOA 1:7 twist midlength with the Wylde chamber.
