Last weekend ran across this P229E born in 1985. I couldn't pass up one of the earlier P220's and the bonus is it was only $500. Took it to the range the following day and it shot 200 rounds of S&B without a hiccup.

It even came with the original box.

The best thing you can do for old Sigs is to change the recoil spring. My department issued those for many years. A fresh recoil spring defenitely kept the guns running longer.

Nice! Just like mine. A Tysons Corner, spur hammered P220. Like the post above said, replace the recoil spring with a fresh one. Also keep your rails greased and she'll give you years of faithful service.

Nice. I still have my old duty P220. It's one of the last ones to come out of Germany. The W has been stamped over. Just says Germany. I'm NEVER trading that one.

Neat old heel release. A few years ago I had a 1977 dated 220 9mm Geneva Switzerland surplus PD gun! There's pictures here in the Sig handgun sub topic
