Need advice on this trade I am working on. Is this a favorable deal?

I would make that trade if i didn't need/want the pistol. The pistol goes for around $600 i Believe. That barrel is $275, upper $225ish, rail $200, Flash hider $50. If the upper is in like new condition I would say it is a favorable trade if its something you want. Do you have an enhancements you spent a lot of money on in the pistol?

I personally would not do that particular deal. However having said that if you are happy with the upper and aren't that interested in the 17-L I say do it.

No, not G17L. Jist the G17L *upper*, i.e. the slide. I get to keep the g17 lower and in the future could buy another slide, like g34 upper.

That would make it a better deal then, I would think.

I cannot figure out what 17l uppers go for since it is so rare. Maybe 400? All the hits point to complete g17L

It has this barrel in it:

You are saying I should jump on this deal?

I've never really enjoyed glock all that much for some reason and even could never get the 17L to shoot very accurately even with the Bar-Sto barrel. I cannot process the trigger on it.

I do however like the MechTech upper on G17, it turns it into something entirely different. 2" groups at 100 yards.

I also have the option of buying the upper for 400.

If you're not high on Glocks to begin with and you like the upper, just buy the upper and sell the Glock outright. You will come out ahead I would think.

I think I am going to keep the G17L since I've had a Bar-Sto fitted and these things are rather expensive - North of $100 for the semi-fit Bar-Sto and then gunsmith fees. It was probably close to 200 just for the BarSto. It wasn't part of the deal but I will end up with a barrel I cannot use, nor get much out of it.

That upper isn't worth close to 400.00, especially after you remove and trash the barrel.

I realized it doesn't come with a BCG nor with a CH.. thus not such a great deal.

lipstick on a pig bro, keep the smoke wagon, he's seen her with the heels off and didn't like it.

Why would you say that?
And why would I remove the barrel?

I wouldn't do the trade. Trading a known for an unknown, with questionable parts and build is a no-go. There are too many solid options on the market right now, and at rock-bottom prices, to justify buying franken monsters. You can thank me later.

Like a BCM 18' SS with KMR for 250 more bucks!

link? What is that beast?

The upper above lacks the BCG and CH so that buying these will increase its price from 400 to under 600

The lack of the CH and BCG makes this not even worth considering.

If you've got the cash, https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-SS410-18-Rifle-Upper-Receiver-Group-w-BCM-KM-p/bcm-urg-18-ss410-kmr-a-13.htm is a good option. The price listed on this page doesn't include the charging handle and bolt carrier group.

He sent this to me:

The math on my end is 200 noveske upper, 290 barrel, 200 on the rail, and 65 on the muzzle device. I figure that and a new BCG and $100, or just straight cash is even. My barrel has 1 magazine on it and every other piece of the upper is brand new

-- Trade all that for my G17L slide (upper receiver, not the lower) and a Bar-Sto match barrel plus the factory Glock barrel.

He had the upper parts professionally installed or assembled for about 70 bucks.

Does that make sense??

I have a PSA bcg sitting in my box. It's new. I could do the bcg, the upper and $100

Or I could do the upper and $200.

I have about $700 in the upper as is.

He can quote new retail prices for the components all day long, but that shouldn't make you want to pay anywhere near full retail prices for used parts (since you didn't purchase from an authorized vendor)....assembled by a "professional" or not.

I have no personal experience with Black Hole Weaponry, but what research I'd previously done when searching for a 6.5 barrel led me to believe they don't make garbage. It would be far from absolute top tier, but not worthy of the trashcan.

What's happened to BHW barrels? They were getting great reviews on here a few years back.

A quick search on the forums reveals that they are supposedly Larue-like.

It's like this except it's mid, not rifle gas.

The rail and upper are quality so at least 2 out of 3 are good components. It's completely up to you as you are the only one who makes the final decision.
