Back in June, I was notified that I had won a BCM Mid-16 Mod 2 and a few other items from the S.W.A.T. Magazine May Sweepstakes. Well, it was true. A couple months ago, I finally received the entire package. I had to add a couple more accessories to it before it would be ready to take to the range. I got the last piece in today. That was the Cloud Defensive mount for the tape switch. Here it is.
Accessories:
Trijicon MRO with absolute co-witness mount
Surefire M600IB Scout Light© with IntelliBeam™ Technology
Surefire DS-07 Waterproof Switch Assembly - Designed for SureFire's Scout Light® WeaponLights
Cloud Defensive LCSmk1a - Picatinny mount for Surefire ST07 tape switch (black)
BCMGUNFIGHTER KAG - 1913 Picatinny Rail Version (black)

How do you like the BCM quad rail? I'm not sure if they've been released to the general public yet or not, I haven't seen any reviews on them really.
Does it feel "round" in the hand or really tall like some of the I-beam shaped DD rails?

It does not really feel round, but it also does not feel tall like many of the other picatinny-railed handguards. I did not see the need for rail covers. Since I added the BCM KAG, I have a much better gripping position and it is easy to activate the light with my thumb.

Nice! I'd like to know how the BCM QRF stacks up against the DD LITE III rail, dimensionally. The LITE III rail is very slim and comfortable. From the pics, the BCM rail looks to be a bit taller and fatter than the LITE III? Either way, very nice rifle.
Very cool. Nice looking and well thought out. Congrats

Can you please do us a favor and measure the height and width of the handguard? I appreciate it. Thanks.

Agreed on all counts. It is a nice rail, and I would guess we will see a surge in quad rails with these being released.
I'm exceedingly happy that weapon went to a good home. A think from a manufacturer point of view, there are few things worse than giving away things, and those items disappear into a void and are never heard of again.

Took the BCM out to SRSC (local shooting range) this morning along with two M16A1 clones I needed to test. The A1s are fantastic. The BCM, well, it was a BCM. What more can I say. It was smooth and accurate. The PNT trigger was great. The Trijicon MRO is fantastic as well. The whole package came together to produce a fine working AR.

My favorite pica tinny rails were the DD Lite III rails that came on the V5 guns as they didn't have the I-Beam effect when holding them.
The measurements you provided tell me that these new BCM rails would be even better in preventing the I-Beam effect.
Nice setup you currently have with your gun. About the only thing I would add would be to put some ladder rail covers on the parts of the rail that my hand grabs.
Lucky guy! Beautiful rifle, glad it went to a good home!
Congratulations on the rifle. I love my BCM. A few guys at work even bought BCM after they shot mine.
