Lets use this thread as a place to post good deals, and cool stuff, you find as you surf around the internet. I don't want to turn this into a thread that posts the standard email listings we all get, but I think you guys and gals know what I mean. Posting a generic sale on PMAGs is weak sauce. Posting a going out of business sale with PMAGs being $4 each would be legit. Surplus military deals are always awesome, so are cool electronics or other things. I might not have an immediate need for a demil 81mm mortar, but it would still be cool to find them being sold.

Hopefully this makes sense. This thread certainly isn't only related to firearms, if it is a great price, or just super cool, post up a link and tell us about it.

For me, and perhaps for a lot of other people, here is what I consider a cool and interesting find. It is the 67 throws of Judo show in animated GIF. Since I have done mixed martial arts for decades, it makes this find all the more interesting to me and my nephews.

Challenge accepted stick. And unfortunately from the same place as your upper since CDNN hasn't come back with the older Adventureline 20rders.

Colt 20 round Usgi mags. For $12 they are good, I actually find them to be better than the Brownells 20rders that I have. I know others will be upset, but it is what it is. Besides, they be Colt!

Next, an interesting buy for the guys who are looking for, perhaps, something a little retro, used USGI Colt mags, with green followers. For that proper clone they might be interesting. Just grabbed a set for myself since, I have nothing better to do tonight and after a long week I figure I deserve some random stuff.

Nice price on 20 rounders. I am an unabashed 20 round lover. Straight only please.

The 30 round pack is already out of stock, which could be a shame if they were old enough to meet AWB state compliance.

I am in full agreement on 20s, the curved ones look, just wrong. And even while I have almost 30 old 20rders with metal followers, I do like picking up more.

As far as the 30s, I am surprised they moved as fast as they did. I will check the ones I have coming to see what the dates on them are. Though, with them coming from LE, I have the feeling they won't meet AWB for states that need them. But, we shall see, and I will update when I get my order.

Anyway, in the spirit of the thread. MORE MAGS!!!!! In this case Ak mags, Hungarian 20 rounders. Not exactly cheap, but alas, a bit harder to find.

Interesting find: Haven't done a purchase from 'em, but 1-800-Guns and Ammo has a little thing in their rewards program where each review of a product they stock, limited to one review a week, gets enough points for a $10 store-credit kickback.

$10 to take twenty minutes to a half-hour and barf out a paragraph or two? A bit below my usual hourly rate, but at least it doesn't have the Gibbs-Slap Bait I have to deal with putting normal Billable Hours on the board. Keep at it long enough and maybe I'll have enough banked for a free ACO... :D lol

Well, $10 a week... better than nothing, though. The rub is that while they price-match, they seem to be hit-n-miss on selection (ALG triggers for AK's but not AR's, for example) and their base prices seem pretty close to MSRP.

Trying to decide whether to blow my piled-up $100 in free stuff knocking down the price on that Lasermax rifle kit I've been looking at, or burn it on the ACO, then roll the 1-point-per-dollar kickback (100 pts = $10 off, so the Aimpoint would yield about $30 back) plus some more review-farming into the laser.

OTOH, I have a range-ready pistol/other-firearm-not-SBR whatever-it-is-depending-on-OAL (Do I measure to muzzle crown, or tip of un-pinned brake?) as soon as the URG gets back from the smith's shop, so the folder to make it Briefcase Ready and the optic are just luxuries anyway--and for learning the ins and outs I'm thinking it might be better to start with iron sights only, then add laser and RDS later.

EDIT: if anyone checks these guys out and wants to give a "hat tip," my referral link is http://i.refs.cc/ov8iWvDx--full disclosure, I do get a rewards-point kickback worth about $7.50 for each person who uses my referral link, if you're feeling less generous the direct link is www.1800gunsandammo.com.

If it's permanently attached I'd drop close the action and drop a cleaning rod down the bbl and measure to the tip of the muzzle device. That's your bbl length.

Thanks, but bbl is a known factor--under Federal law it's the same "Other Firearm" class as TAC-14 and Mossberg Shockwave, but WA so far as I can tell only defines pistol as "under 16-inch barrel, or designed to be fired with only one hand." Overall length is 27.75" RE-end-to-brake-end, 25.925 to crown; the irony is that pistolizing and de-NFA-ing the Mk 18 design is making it bigger than the parent rifle. lol

Bump to note that for those into prism-scopes, Cabela's has the old Vortex Spitfire 1x for $150 shipped (plus tax) with code 7TREAT (free ship over $99). Is this Good2Go for a cruiser/briefcase/Bump In Night gun, or should I keep building the warchest since my most likely oppo are home invader or Active Shooter rather than Trained Enemy Combatant?

Edit: Never mind, just found out prism-scopes don't do co-witness. Keep skimmin' off the stipend and grinding out $10 reviews for an Aimpoint it is...

Thanks the olight seems a good deal
Was playing with my tlr4 light with laser
Noticed that the laser had enough spill for not bad illumination
But unit is too high profile to mount at 12oclock
Would be nice if there's a small lower profile reliable red laser designating and illumination

Joe, ever look at the various LaserMax rifle kits like the Uni-Max? Right now I'm thinking an Olight on one of the top 45-degree mounts on my pistol, a Uni-Max behind the mag carrier on the other. (The 450-lumen Olight's intended as a "dazzler," I have a small low-power red light I plan to stick on a Mossie Mount for general getting-around.)

100 mags for $100? I hate you little bit right now.
I am seriously at the point where I will buy random mags for guns I might have a slight desire to own some day if the mags are cheap now. Or hell, even parts for that matter.

And on the point of mags, the 30rd Colt mags from AU were 2009 and 2011 date stamped. So pretty new. Not in too bad of shape really, At least at first blush, no chance to function test them as of yet.

The cheap Colt 32rd 9mm SMG mag though was a little rough, lot of surface rust.

I never took this to be AR 15 related. Honestly, when you said interesting I figured, maybe short of retro, most would probably be overloaded with AR gear, so everything was fair game.

Honestly, I was being more sarcastic than anything since it is like AU was getting pimped out here, but damn if they don't have some decent deals.

Lanbo's is usually pretty good... they have some of the best prices on oddball PMags (like the 10- and 40-rounders) I can find.

BTW, beware of GunMagWarehouse... I had my credit-card number stolen my first and only time I did business with them (a couple years ago), and Qualys Labs' SSL test indicates their site is still Bend Over & Grab Ankles-level compromised--when I submitted a Customer Service ticket about it, they studiously ignored it for about two months and then deleted it unread. If something seems too good to be true, like 6 Hexmags for $50 shipped...

Dvor has Aimpoint T-2s (the 200180 box) for $650 shipped, with factory mount (the 200170 pack) $10 more. If you feel generous, my Tip Jar referral link is https://www.dvor.com/s/8l190b or the direct link is https://www.dvor.com/aimpoint-micro-t-2-red-dot-sight-200170.html .

Dunno how good a deal this is, I'm pretty much settled on either Trijicon MRO or DI Optical FC1 (leaning the latter with its bigger window) since they both have factory mounts that almost bang-on hit my peculiar mounting height requirement with nothing else to buy, but thought I'd pass it along just in case anyone here was interested.

Interestingly, Midway now says FDE is clearance but Black and Foliage are full price. Which is contradictory to normal pattern... usually nobody wants green stuff, which is how I got lucky scoring my CASV-EL and how I get FAB Defense stuff for a fraction of full price.

Speaking of: Tip for saving bigtime on FAB if you like their parts but not their prices - wait for Mako Group to drop a 20% or better coupon in their newsletter (the best are usually around Black Friday, a third to 40% off if I'm remembering last year right), then go Bottom Feeding with Olive Drab parts (which are frequently already deep-discounted). Krylon is cheap, right? LOL (Remembering a local mattress chain's tagline about huge price knockdowns here: "As long as you're not picky about color!" For a steep enough discount I'd even buy pink, like so many of the guys at NWFA did when Sig had pink braces at 90%-off... sat that one out because I prefer the Shockwave Blade, though with SB now having a mag-carrier for their braces I may need to rethink that.)

Not a "deal" or even anything for sale, but an interesting find to share: the guy who runs Opsgear is descended from an associate of Wyatt Earp's, and apparently somebody in the family tree interviewed the old lawdog once he settled down in California--and it's finally been rediscovered and released.

Dunno how they measure up on The Chart, but CBC Industries just launched a pair of M4 clones (bare flattop and detachable carry-handle)--regular retail listed around $600, but they're doing an Intro Special at $400. I'm just a n00b still learning my way around what to look for, but the free-float 16" middy upper I bought from 'em last year looked and felt pretty solid (though I haven't had a chance to put lead through it yet--you all've seen it on my build with another site's custom-engraved lower and my custom BCM Rustoleum Edition OD keymod covers), so I thought I'd pass the headsup along and let everybody size it up and decide for yourselves.

https://www.cbcindustries.com/products/cbc-industries-rifle-m4-556-nh

I wouldn't expect these to be Top Tier Operator Grade, but for a lookalike plinker and low-cost "beater trainer" it might be something to consider.

Also, Mako Group (Meprolight and FAB Defense) just dropped their annual Black Friday "Damn Near Everything" coupon code--this year it's 30% off except Clearance with code BFEB30. Combining these codes with buying markdown colors is my usual trick for ending up at up to 60% off list-price on stuff... the girlfriend thinks I out-powershop her, and while the Gruesome Twosome whinge about the amount I spend on stuff (they do that ANY TIME I spend on something, even things they want) they've had to admit that I usually do better wringing value out of money than they would.

I know it.
On the bonus side, the round I was going to grab 5 boxes of they only have one box of. So... I'll wait until after chirstmas and order from SG ammo and grab HST 147gr then. So it all good, kind of. lol.

But I will likely grab the HST next time around, because I can, and I've carried HST before.
And that link was the stuff I was going to grab, can't add more than one box, so.... sad. lol.

I just picked up the ALG juice and grease, while on sale I figured I would try it out.

I just greased up my 1911 over the weekend from the Geissele VTG I picked up during the last big sale. Shit scarred me coming out of the bottle because it almost flows like water. Wasted some of it. I kept waiting for the grease to come up, basically thinking the water stuff was like pre-cum for lack of a better explanation.

The very thin grease made the slide rack smooth. Almost as well as the Parvalus grease I have. I was impressed with how smooth it made everything. I'm interested to see how it holds up.

At this point it's looking like I may be forced to withdraw my Battery Junction reco, they're starting to turn into the Palmetto State Armory of lights.

Timeline of events:
--Nov 5: Order Pelican case/foam/12xCR123 battery combo and Olight light. Pelican case is listed "In Stock", Olight as "preorder, batch due 11/11." Supposed to pull my case/battery kit and hold until lights come in.
--Nov 11: Light arrives in stock at BJ. Order listed as "Shipped" soon after, no tracking number, ship date or estimated delivery date given.
--Nov 20: I contact BJ asking for tracking/etc data, am told "case on backorder, will ship about 12/13."
--Nov 21: Note from BJ: "We've just received notice from the manufacturer that the delayed items on your order will be arriving at our warehouse later than expected. We now anticipate that your order will ship in 4 - 6 weeks."

Gibbs Rule #36: "if you feel like you're being played, you probably are." I've asked them to switch my order to a different color of case that their rep specifically said WAS in-stock to get things moving, which was an option they offered, but my patience runs out at three Major Delays. (A couple days I'll let slide, more than a week goes on the scoreboard.) So, we'll see if it works out... thinking if they push Three Strikes You're Out it'll be "either ship my light by close of business tomorrow and cancel the battery/case kit, or just cancel the entire order and refund my money."

That is a nice price on a 6920, but I still think I would go the route of the Colt Trooper. Then again, if I were building a M4 clone, the Trooper wouldn't be much help.

There are going to be some people who see this too late, and kick themselves for not picking up a S&W Model 64 (SS version of the Model 10). The S&W Model 10 and 64 offered here are the heavy barrel 38 +P rated weapons that almost every cop carried back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. While wonder 9s are still wonderful, these did a great job of putting dirtbags into the ground where they belonged. Most of the used Model 64s (and 10s) are prior security or LE, with many of them being imported back into the US from overseas.

Update: Finally got my Olight. Never handled a Surefire to Streamlight to compare, but feels pretty solid, doesn't seem to add a lot of weight (admittedly, it's going onto an already damn heavy gun) and puts out enough light to cause me pain when I looked into it as a test. (Admittedly, I am VERY light sensitive, so what does that to me may just be an inconvenience for most.)

For about $45-$50... not a bad little rail-mount, as long as you can mount it so you can hit both switches at once if you want a strobe. Right now I have it on top-right, but I'm toying with the idea of rearranging the CASV's rail sections so I can stick it right in front of the thumbrest.

And re Battery Junction, once I switched from the clear Pelican case in my order to a black one, things got moving pretty quick. Still want to see how many batteries I have in reserve, so I think I'll pick up a clear case at Big 5 or something, swap the battery-carrier insert into it and repurpose the black one for something else.

The owner is a friend of mine, and I don't think he would have been able to price match as Mega Arms is no longer in business making their own marked uppers or lowers. They were bought out, and the designs were slightly changed, and remarked with the new company name. As you may be able to guess, prices didn't get lower when this happened.

If you like Mega, buy up what is left on the shelves.

Too bad they don't carry any of the Good Stuff in .45 or 5.56... if they did, it'd make that particular form of Retail Hell just a little more tolerable. Just as an aside, Stick, is it fair to ask if you've heard anything about what the .45 guys in our AO are loading? I know most agencies switched from Gold Dot to HST a while back... I'm still carrying GD's mainly because I haven't done an adequate job of rotating stock and dumbass me threw out the box with the lot-number data on the brick of HST's I picked up.

Nice! I'm on their list and must have missed that one, then again, I wouldn't have bought it, but the price is nice and the ones I've shot have been good blasters.

http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammunition-1/9mm-caliber/federal-9mm-115gr-ammo.html

This is not the best performing ammunition made by Federal, but it is considered a hot nine load, and is a lot better than garbage hollow points found in the magazines of your cheap friends. This is the price that most people are happy to be buying 9 mil ammunition for when they go to the store, and in this case you are buying a full strength 9mm defensive load for dirt cheap. Add in that these are crimped and with sealed primers, and you will be kicking yourself if you don't buy some even if just to use for range ammo.

To put things in perspective, I wanted to buy several cases of this just to have on hand, but Mrs Stick pointed out the 5k rounds that showed up the previous week, so it killed that idea. She did say to buy a 500 round half case just to have on hand, so its hard to complain, especially when it isn't like we are shy on 9. In hindsight, had I know this deal was coming up, I would have picked up 5k rounds of this to have on hand. The MP5s wouldn't have cried about it....

I know what you mean. I bought a pistol from them a little while ago and the shipping was ~$20 - so it wasn't too bad, but I hate that you don't know until after you've already committed to buy.

Stick,
What was shipping cost on this ammo?

I bought more than just this ammo, I think it was another 2000 rounds of pistol in addition, and it was $34iirc for total shipping. The shipping wasn’t bad, and while I would always rather shipping was free, I know that doesn’t work for the retailer realistically.

If I hadn’t bought from them before, I would be as well. However, I’ve made multiple orders and their shipping has always been acceptable.

1. I would agree, that ammo is great for reloading, long term storage, general purpose, or whatever else, and the price is dirt cheap.

Speaking of SHOT... For guys who're into Meprolight or FAB Defense stuff and willing to deal with Mako Group, their SHOT Show Sale is 20% off everything not already on clearance with promo code SSPROMO20. I've personally always had good luck with them, but I know some folks haven't... and TBH, I'm mildly peeved that the Mepro Micro RDS they prominently mention in the ad is nowhere to be found anywhere on their site, not even just an info page so I can see if it'll fit with the optic riser on my rather persnickety build. (CASV + co-witness optic = PAIN... maybe once the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed it's a good thing this monster will need rethink before building a second for the girlfriend.)

Not your typical .308 ammunition, but I just ordered a case because of the price. At a price of $125 for 1,000 rounds, this will work well for our needs in shooting close in and for pictures.

Product Description
• 7.62x51mm Caliber
• DAG Manufacture
• Berdan Primed
• Plastic Projectile
• Plastic Case
• Non-Corrosive
• 50rd Box

These lead-free rounds are frangible and will fragment on hard surfaces that might cause a lead-core bullet to ricochet. A special coated copper jacket surrounds a compressed tungsten powder core to reduce the bullet’s velocity, producing lower recoil and minimizing muzzle flash, thus allowing faster second shot placement. The dense tungsten core allows it to penetrate less dense materials with ease, while still remaining frangible. While lead-core munitions are susceptible to over-penetration, these rounds have 745 ft. lbs. of energy combinedwith a 100% kinetic energy drop, making them the safest yet most lethal CQB/Training round manufactured anywhere in the world today.

The tungsten is powdered and compressed, so it won't fill any AP roles. Aside from 5.56, we don't see tungsten in any commercial ammo that I can think of off hand.

Blue is a specialty color for training ammo, which is what the role of this ammunition is. I confess I would like to take this out hog hunting, as it appears to still pack quite a bit of clout, but I will need to see what sort of range I can get out of it.

The big thing for me is price. I've got to see how this stuff does, and then I'll beg Mrs Stick to increase the ammo allocation funding....

I hear ya on that one, amigo--the big reason that green-tip find was a big deal for me was I generally don't have the cash-flow for case-lots at a time, and even that was a splurge. Being a freelancer AND having an aging-disgracefully parent to take care of has a similar way of putting a cramp on one's budget...

It will NOT cycle the FN FAL, Armalite AR10, SCAR 17, Mega Arms .308 or in one other AR/SR25 style weapon. However, it is a lot of fun to use with a bolt action .308.

Great for malfunction drills as it will feed fine, but it isn't even close to ejecting. I might play around a bit and see if I can get one of the .308s to work with it using an adjustable gas block, but honestly I think I'm in for a disappointment in getting gas guns to run. I think these will be for single round drills in the gas guns, and for use in the bolt action for the nephews using the Mauser 98 308 conversion rifle I have laying around. I'll make them low crawl and do sniper drills with open sights.

I came across information stating the rim diameter of the blue ammo is slightly smaller than the standard 308 rim and there have been extraction issues using a standard 308 bolt.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have the HK, but I don't have the training bolt. I have no problems extracting it from my AR based platforms, or the SCAR, but the older Mauser 98 conversion needed to be tilted back a bit. I'm still more than happy with the purchase, and in an absolute worse case scenario, I'll use them to mix in with live rounds for training malfunctions.

If you were designing a blowback 308 bolt and ammo you might make the boltface diameter small enough so it wouldn't chamber and fire standard ammo. Because that would be bad.

I saw that. Fairly good price. I think the best I have seen prior was about $$7k-ish. Though they were older M82s, they did come with scopes though, can't recall all details. Outside my current budget for a squirrel rifle.

Speaking of AU newsletters, anybody have any thoughts on their braided-wire springs? Planning to go Vltor A5 on refitting the GP 16", but debating about picking one up for the Cheap Crappy Pistol Parts Kit. (CCPPK isn't really intended to be a serious firearm, just enough to throw on a lower and legally say "yup, first completed as pistol so I can go back-and-forth.")

I helped a vip customer of mine here pick one up. Factory refurbished by Barrett back in August.
