View Full Version : Anyone getting in on the new release of RTF2 Glocks?

Did not see a thread on this yet. To clarify, not the Vickers run, just the fresh run of RTF2 framed 17/19/22/23. From what I can tell there are some variations with fish gills as well, if that's your thing. Make sure to verify when ordering.

Back story: I was starting to hate my Gen4 19 so I grabbed a deal on a Vickers 19 in black, but never found a 17 to go with it for under $600. To me, that wasn't worth it since I don't like the sights and swap them anyhow. I also don't use the slide release and grip plug. The only bonus aside from texture is the floorplate.

Anyway, ended up finding a G17 RTF2 in black with straight serrations online for $484 shipped and grabbed it. Will be here this week.

Anyone else getting in on these?

For one, the RTF2 frame is much rougher, tackier. Since this will likely only pull nightstand and IDPA duty, no concealed carry, that's a bonus.

Nothing particular against the Gen5, but I'll be a late adopter due to some of the issues I take with the Gen4s I've had (3 guns total 17/19/21). The 9s had weak ejection/BTF and I cannot get the trigger on any of them to the level I can easily attain with my Gen3 guns. All of my Gen3 guns, even later production, have been flawless so I'm not really seeing a need to move on just yet.

The Gen5 also has the cutout on the front of the grip, which may pose an issue for me though I can't say for sure since I've yet to handle one.

Gotcha, thanks! The Hybrid model by Glock Triggers turns a Gen 4 into an OEM Gen 3 trigger, although not cheap.

I didn't like the cutout on the Gen2 19s and 23s, but the Gen5 19 doesn't bother me a bit. The bottom the grip is more rounded and the cutout doesn't scrape my pinky like the Gen2 did.

If you didn't like the Gen4, you might really like the Gen5.

I want a G17 with gills. Probably would get a G19 too, if they had re-released it with gills.

All I wanted was a 19 with gills, so I will be sitting this one out. I have a feeling that they might do a "summer special" of the G19 with curved serrations next year, and that this run of the G17 was to test the waters.

I'm eagerly waiting for a G17 RTF2 with the fish gill cocking serrations as they are fortunately still California approved. Anyone know what the SKU is for it? I've been scouring the Internet for one. I have a G22 RTF2 (with a KKM 9mm conversion barrel) that I am very fond of.
