I've been looking around for a side-fold adapter for my AR pistol under construction, but kinda queasy about only having one source.
I did some Googling, and a lot of what I came up with is obvious junk like these two:

There is the Deadfoot system... don't particularly like the idea of having to have my BCG's modified, but it's a potential card to play.
And then, while I was perusing evilBay trying to see if I could find a LAW folder secondhand, I stumbled across some that look very similar to the LAW made by a shop called Sylvan Arms.

Any of you guys ever heard of this outfit? Or have anything to join Deadfoot on the "Potentially Viable Alternates" list?
Get the LAW. I have one on my SBR and it is GTG.
The Sylvan Arms was reviewed on Amazon, one review mentioned the 'soft metal' -

I think we're both having the same thoughts as we're both building pistols and i've looked at about everything y9u've mentioned, i'm even using my old CASV-S.
Anyhoo, i gave serious thought to a side folder, but ultimately went with the SB PDW because i can fire the pistol without having to deploy the brace . Yeah, I give some extra length, but I gain immediate funcionality and peace of mind.
So, I apologize for the sidetrack, wish you well on your new pistol build, and would like to simply offer an alternative to the folding brace.

@26 Inf: Thanks, good to know--they're off the list.
@ColtSeavers: Also appreciated, buit with my 10.3" build (the concept was a "just BARELY legal non-NFA based on Mk 18 upper" PDW) and needing to fit into a briefcase (nice thing about a BIIIIIIIIIIIG laptop, its required superjumbo case lets you sneak more crap under the radar once people get used to "Oh, that's just so-and-so with his mobile Data Warehouse") I'm kinda stuck unless I want to leave a buffer tube hanging out and have Perma-Butthurt Leftards around here freaking out. :( Certainly an option worth considering for a "Home D" PDW that doesn't need to be so discreet, or a "truck gun" in a longer duffel. Possible PM forthcoming to compare notes if interested, though you've obviously been at this rodeo a whole lot longer than I have.
I have two Law Tactical folders and have had them installed on three different guns from 16” to 7.5” over thousands of rounds. No effect on function and solid as a rock. They’re expensive but worth every penny IMO.

Another vote for Law Tactical here. I have an AR pistol with the Law on it with the SB Tactical SOB brace. The Law also adds a bit of length, which is nice.

Those first two are < $50 each, there might be a clue in there somewhere. That third one look like a direct rip-off of the LAW. I have a LAW on an AR pistol and it is very solid.
+1 for the LAW. I was not a fan initially due to weight, but I've come around. Very solid lock-up, no wiggle whatsoever.

Agreed, they are GTG.

Thanks, guys--LAW, watch the cash flows and watch for a sale it is. Was just hoping for a backup other than Deadfoot because I've been burned on sole-sourcing things before.
