Very possible, but due ongoing pissing match between state of CA and feds, we may never know:
ICE, Sonoma Sheriff At Odds Over California Wildfires Arson Suspect
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County sheriff Rob Giordano issued a statement Thursday afternoon in response to what he called "misinformation about a suspected arsonist" who has been identified in some news reports as possibly being responsible for starting the deadly wildfires that have devastated the North Bay area in the past week-and-a-half.
Currently jailed in Sonoma County, Mexican citizen Jesus Fabian Gonzalez was arrested when he was allegedly caught starting a fire in a Sonoma Valley park as fires still burned in the region.
In an Oct. 18 statement, Thomas Homan, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, called Sonoma County a "non-cooperative jurisdiction" in regard to ICE's detainer request that the sheriff's office hold Gonzalez 48 hours past his release date.

No, they'll turn around and still say Trump is to blame. Because of his environmental policies, climate change has increased allowed for the weather that caused the wildfires to spread as fast as they did. Thus, we need a federal investigation so that Congress can draw up articles of impeachment and possible murder charges on the president.

I heard this. I was immediately wondering if the 8k fire in my neck of the woods (SoCal) was an arson job....it's happen before down here. There's literally 10 million people in LA/Orange county and you just know a few are fire bugs. I think the OC fire started pretty close to the 91 freeway.

The NYT story was a little vague. Not a big surprise there…
What were all the previous arrests for? It didn't elaborate. Was this poor poor man just trying to stay warm all those other times while he was violating all of our laws? The A-hole should have been deported upon discovery that he was here illegally, and he most certainly should have been deported as soon as he was arrested for breaking any law!
I swear. Some of our country has gone full-blown-retard, and then some. Unfortunately, these full blown retard people are on the same ship as we are and they are causing our once great ship to sink while pointing the finger at us as the cause of the imminent sinkage… What to do?
Just starting the fires that US citizens aren't willing to start.

What we aren't told about people coming in to this country illegally is that along with people looking for a better life for their families, more than a few are mentally ill and criminals.
We've been given a false narrative about how these guys are doing the work that Americans wont do, but I've often wondered how many of them are criminals running from the law, their victims and their families in other countries?
I've lived the majority of my life in the West, both Texas and Arizona. I've seen the good and the bad that comes across the border looking for work and it would appear to me that we tend to get an awful lot of drunk drivers, drug runners and child molesters along with the guys who build our fences and cut our lawns.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if this guy ended up being one of the bad ones.

That or they will spin it that he is a misunderstood victim of climate change and due to his victimization by the White patriarchy he was forced to build a hobo fire to keep from expiring.
