Mark spun up some 220 grain ELD-X's for our Elk Hunt in December. After the debacle with Nosler Accubonds and tips falling off and being brittle we thunk ELD's. Basically did the same load with H1000 and RWS brass and we were able to get 2885 fps SD6. To boot the POI was dead on my old load so no adjustment on the NF scope. Ran the DOPE out to 1,300 yards and called it good.

We have 208 ELD match loaded for our tactical fodder and they are getting 2989 fps SD7. We also have a 225grain ELD match for tactical fun and games were we got 2883 fps. Maybe it was our lucky day or maybe these cut wind better (wind was low) but we hit everything all day long. Gotta think a little of both.

Lastly, Mark spun some 168's for the LMT MWS and the velocity was so so at 2542 but they shot great and there was no work up, first attempt load. It can be improved if we cared enough.. Doubt it though. Shot Sub Moa and my LMT fights me to get there, one flier or would have been .60 inch group.

Moral of the story, if your looking to play with some new bullets, these might not suck!

Shoot long and straight mi amigos.

Easiest load work up in the history of hand loading.

I've been shooting the Match's in 284 and as long as I stay away from the lower charges and velocities, they work really nicely in my 700. The best part, they aren't overly expensive.

The 212’s work well in my .300 WBY with RL23- 2875 FPS with low StD. This is nowhere near a max load but accuracy drops off as velocity increases (right now I’m at 5-shot 3/4 MOA).

Took a nice meat bull yesterday at 115 yards. Bullet passed through both lungs and expanded nicely before exiting.

I’m also experimenting with the 143’s in my 6.5-284 as an alternative to the 140 gr Bergers.

That's really cool.

I had a similar experience with my 308 Rem. 700. Loaded up for the first time a handful of 175 Sierra's with 42 gr. of IMR 4064 and got a .447" grouping (4 out of 5 shots) right off the bat.

I knew it was a good shooter, since the first time I ever took it out it shot a .284" 3-shot group with 175 FGMM. I didn't shoot anymore into that target for fear of screwing the group up. I was shocked. Especially since I just had the FGMM and hadn't started handloading for it. That was also the best group I had ever shot over all the years I've been handloading.......and it wasn't a handload!

I later did a test box and at 44 gr. it did a .190" for 4 out of 5.

I think 308s, or 7.62x51s are inherently accurate.

Congrats on taking some meat home. Well done.
