I am looking for a cable modem and wireless router with the ability to output to a phone. I don't want to rent the cable company unit but I am having trouble finding a unit that does all three. None of the units I have looked at on Amazon or BestBuy have the phone compatibility unless I am missing something and there is an adapter that is connected to the router or do I just use one of the cat 5 plugs for the phone output? I must be missing something. Xfinity is my provider. I will have cable internet and phone service.

Thanks!

I highly recommend using a separate modem and wireless router.

Many cable modems have the phone ports, such as the Arris TM1602A

In short, that cable modem outputs ethernet and phone.

Obviously hook the phone up, then run the ethernet to a wireless router or even better, a dedicated router and separate wireless access points such as that from Ubiquity.

Thank you. That's what I'll do. I appreciate it.
