Their model 1 looks fancy. Anyone got experience with these?I have a Radian 300blk SBR. They make an excellent rifle. In addition to my SBR I purchased a stripped upper/handguard comob to match up with a ADM lower. Excellent quality that you won't be disappointed with.

I live in Salem, OR where they are located, a LGS has several rifles for sale on consignment from Radian, I am seriously thinking of picking one up on layaway. I first saw/held one at the Semper Paratus Arms armorer course I took, which the folks from Radian also attended, they are very nice and as mentioned above are in the same category as KAC, Noveske and the like.

Only you can decided if it is worth that to you, but they are very high quality.

Lanbos has them for $2100ish. I think of Radian as Noveske 2.0.

You can build it for less.

With arguably the best ambi changing handle, best ambi selector, and best ambi lower (its startlingly well designed), they have found a reasonable price point for everything but their full MSRP build.

I own a couple Radian uppers and a complete Radian which is going through a long term review currently (review for this board, not papered publications). Because of what I do, I don't pay usual pricing, so I'm not much help in prices to pay or where to go. I do know that Tom is in sales at Radian and is a good dude. They also have a sharp looking redhead, and another good guy who works there as some suited upper mucky muck who sometimes returns my texts when he isn't in Europe with wild woman or drunk. So I guess I could say I know them a little ... :D

I hope their 10.5” sbr has proper gas port. What’s the point of 416R barrel on a sbr or pistol though?

I have not pulled it apart to check what the sizing is, and to be honest I'm too lazy to. I might text one of the guys to check, or call them up if there are other questions I had.

While I would like to see a lighter weight version, there is still something to be said for accuracy in a short platform.

I'm excited to see you are reviewing their rifle. I've been curious about them for a while now, but decided to hold off until there were reviews by trustworthy sources. Is that optic mount made by them as well?

The mount is made by Spuhr. I'll point out in the review that I know some of the guys at Radian, but I know most of the players in the AR industry, and I don't think anyone can I say I've given a passing review to any company that didn't deserve it. I can tell you now that with Radian, the only negative so far is the weight, and since that is highly subjective, I hesitate to even call that a negative.

I am anxiously awaiting my Radian Lower after Nick and Co. brought one to my class in McMinnville. It was nice!


The mount is made by Spuhr. I have 11 ARs, including two JPs and a Radian Model 1 with 300 BLK and 223 uppers, and the Radian is as high quality as anything on the market. The ambi controls on the lower are the best of anyone's period. Startlingly well designed, to the point that when you use one, you may kick yourself for not using their lower for all your builds. The matching upper with the lower makes the rifle feel like it's been cut from one piece of aluminum. I've built a lot of rifles with some very high end components, but the Radian feels like it was designed as one system with everything working and fitting together beautifully in concert. Can't say enough good things about it. It's also 1/2 MOA accurate with match ammo.
