I noticed in the author's introduction to "tap out the safety." Actually my RRA AR-15 9MM safety has a channel that rides over the rear of the trigger bar and is still under pressure even with the handle detent removed (therefore trying to tap out would damage various parts). However, once the hammer pin was tapped out with the spring pressure relieved, the safety easily fell out. Likewise, one must put the safety in before reinstalling the hammer.

As far as the finished job: excellent. I did add my own polishing (not stoning) to the engagement surfaces with IMHO the best product for gun part polishing, the Dremmel polishing felt wheel #520. It's impregnated with a very fine polishing compound that is thoughtout the whole wheel and does a mess free, top of the line, mirror polishing job on anything I've tried (even inside bore chamber).

Now I have a crisp, medium weight, single stage stock trigger job that most would envy.
