Anybody heard anything about Colt releasing an OEM3 model? Basically the CCU rifle minus the furniture.

I haven’t heard anything like that but an OEM lightweight/mid-length gun would be a top selling setup.

Could be cool I guess. I think the CCU already has good furniture. Well the handguard. The stock and grip are throwaways.

Hope Colt releases the OEM-3. I would purchase one of available and if priced similar to the 6920 OEM.

I have an OEM-2 and I'd buy an OEM-3 in a heartbeat.

With SHOT show right around the corner, hopefully something along this line will make an appearance.

Just ordered an OEM2 for an SBR base. In my opinion the OEM concept makes a lot of sense given the level personalization and individual preference that furniture/rails have. I personally have overlooked certain rifles at times because it was more economical to build from scratch than purchase and replace the parts I didn't want.

Magpul MOE grip and SL stock, maybe not ideal for everyone, but hardly a throwaway. I agree the waffle stock and A2 grips were sub-optimal and tossed by a lot of people.

If they do release an OEM3 with the CCU setup I’ll be picking one up. I like that Colt uses a shaved FSB and not a dimpled barrel set screwed gas block.
