I have a clymer no go 5.56 gauge and it is marked 1.4696. I was told that my no go needed to be 1.4736. Should I buy a different no go gauge? all my rifle pass the clymer no go test.

Perhaps you should re-title your thread. It's ambiguous and rather suspect. Just throw gauge in there and you'll probably attract someone who knows.

I dont know how to add to the title

If the bolt did not close on the 1.4696 gauge you should be good to go.

The 1.4736 measurement is for the Colt Field II Gauge. If the bolt closes on the field gauge the rifle is unsafe to shoot.

Many folks just use the field gauge to check instead of getting the go and the no go gauges.

I assume that you removed the ejector and extractor from the bolt before you checked the headspace?

I did remove the ejector and extractor and it passed the no go so I would assume it would also pass the field gauge so it should be gtg
