I’m sorta new to this area, I’m considering having my rifle shipped out to me since not shooting is driving me crazy.

So where’s there some good places to shoot? Preferably, gun clubs with lax rules. I’ve been finding ones online where you can’t draw from holster, rapid fire, etc. Also, with at least 200m to shoot out to, that’s possibly NFA friendly.

I’m willing to drive an hour or so, pay dues etc. I hear there are good places in the mountains to shoot.

Thanks!

IIRC best bet would be Renton Fish & Game - they have an AR shoot with looser rules every month. Most ranges I've been to around Puget Sound are Fudd Rules "for safety and liability"--most no holster draws, some if you're lucky just no Shoulder or Crossdraw, most no Doubletapping and many don't even like Controlled Pairs. Champion Arms in Kent seemed OK for pistol stuff when I was in there many years ago, but your best training bet is probably Firearms Academy of Seattle in Onalaska if they have open-range times outside of classes.

Full-auto is prohibited here, and some folks are still getting used to us having SBR's and Suppressors back--and AFAIK SBS is still a no-no.

Make the most of it while you can, the Dems just retook both houses in the Legislature and they're already teeing up to go Full Metal Jihad on us in the New Year's session...

Thanks. I’ll check that Renton one out. Range 15 by JBLM sounds pretty cool. It’s an Army qual range the public can shoot at. I’ve found other gun clubs that mostly go out to 100yd.

RFGC is out into the foothills east of town. http://rfgc.org/

Then again, going by Yelp it's changed quite a bit since my last time there... https://www.yelp.com/biz/renton-fish-and-game-club-renton?adjust_creative=dWJMtmYxpd5N5yoyzSuhtA&utm_campaign=yelp_api&utm_medium=api_v2_business&utm_source=dWJMtmYxpd5N5yoyzSuhtA&hrid=UrO3DResPDpvTk8qAbnegA

Also, try West Coast Armory and Insights in Bellevue, https://www.yelp.com/biz/west-coast-armory-indoor-range-bellevue?page_src=best_of_yelp

EDIT: Looks like RFGC has become Five-Round Fudds, and they consider even that a "privilege" only for specially authorized members. So forget them, it ain't the same RFGC I used to shoot at. http://rfgc.org/range/rangeMul.php Unless they suspend it for Black Rifle League... http://rfgc.org/events/eventsLeague.php Might be worth contacting Sean Wade to ask about that. But Range 15 might really be the best bet, if you have a military ID or a sponsor who does.

Just came across, Tacoma Sportsmen Club and Upper Nisqually Sportsmen club(Eatonville). Both seem to have good ranges, the Upper Nisqually club has a 550 yard range. Downside to the Nisqually range is that, first, you need a sponsor. So you must attend a public shoot then ask someone to be your sponsor. Which I hate. Also, the initiation fee is 300 dollars.

Still trying to find a nice range to join, as public ranges get costly, and crowded. I have shot at Range 15 on JBLM, and it is nice. I have also brought target stands and shot in the Capitol Forrest, that is the best since you have no range rules, but range is limited for rifle use.
