View Full Version : CD or LMT?
I've been looking at both brands in a 16" model. They seem neck in neck on features. I am looking for opinions on both of these.
I intend to use surplus ammo for a bit then reloading. Intended use is 3 gun matches, plinking and SHTF rifle.

Other will come along and answer you specific question, but in the meantime, consider this package from Grant at G&R:
BCM 16" Middy
LMT BCG
Charging Handle
LMT lower
Package price under $1k. Very reliable and high quality. C4

If you can spare the extra money...LMT. If you can't...I would have no problem going with CD.
LMT top and bottom. Milspec 1:7.

if you are trying to pick between CD, LMT and BCM you are already way ahead of the curve.
i don't own a Charles Daly, but by all indications the CD M4LE is a really great choice.
i own a BCM 16" mid-length upper and a LMT 16" M4 upper. both are great choices, but the nod goes to BCM if only because of the midlength gas system. If you can get the BCM i would jump on it, because sometimes they are hard to find. the LMT uppers are always quite easy to find.
LMT especially for the SHTF scenario. Three gun, plinking, CD or LMT or a roll your own Grant special.

I posted a similar question here a few weeks back. I think the LMTs have a few more of the desireable features than the CD DM4LE's, but both seem well regarded.
I think I'm going to go LMT mostly because I can order the lower and upper seperately, so I don't have to pony the money up all at once. I live in the NE, so I'm still paying on my heating oil prebuy ($3.5K!!!).
I bought a M4LE from Grant..Although I haven't had alot of time to get some rounds downrange, I have put about 300rnds through it so far, all my reloads, different weight bullets, I had no failures of any kind,Accuracy was'nt bad, It did'nt like the 55gr load I had, but shot well with a 60gr HP load. I'm going to try some 65gr bullets and some 69gr bullets I have next,This should be fun.. The CD is a well built carbine, Between it or a LMT, would be a tossup, both are very close in quality, I don't think you could go wrong with either..

Thanks for the input folks.
I have a friend who is a dealer and can order whatever I want. Where is a good place to order a LMT?
Try G&R Tactical...Grant will treat you right.
