I recently purchased a Panasonic Arc5 razor and I am deciding what kind of oil to use in it. Would Weapon Shield oil be ok?

Thanks

Just use Mobile 1.

This is probably crazy talk, but why not use an oil designed for electric razors and clippers?

Not exactly the same, my wife cut my hair for years using a Wahl clipper. Boringly, we used Wahl Clipper Oil. No problems.

Weapon Shield is 9.50 for 4 oz.

Wahl Clipper Oil is 4.00 for 4 oz.

Singer Sewing Machine Oil is 2.69 for 4 oz http://www.joann.com/singer-machine-oil-4-oz-squeeze-bottle/1024165.html

You are going to be using this stuff every day, so why spend twice as much for an oil that 1) may not the best fit; or 2) may be overkill?

I found this online: http://shavercheck.com/lubricate-electric-razor/

Thanks for the replies. Reason I ask is that I have already have a huge bottle of Weapon Shield.

I'll probably go with Singer oil.

To oil the cutters? I wouldn't use any oil that isn't organic if that's the application. I used Froglube on mine last time. Although the purple stuff from Geiselle would probably be better.

Clipper oil or mineral oil.

It's funny you asked. To make a long story short, I quit using Froglube on my firearms quite some time ago b/c it gummed up and made a firearm non functional. I ended up changing to Weaponshield for my firearms and started using the Froglube on things my life may not depend on such as my hair clippers. It's worked fine for that purpose. With that said, I'm not going to go out and buy another bottle of Froglube for my clippers once this bottle runs out. It's much too expensive.

Balistol. Works on a lot of stuff. I use it to clean a safety razor and works well for the clippers.

IMHO sewing machine oil would be best and is what the OEM razor Mfr’rs re-package as their ‘special’ oil, along with their special 2-3X markup.

Clipper oil, or sewing machine oil.

I use gun oil on my hair clippers it works OK. Not as good as clipper oil.
