Lots of stress lately. Wife suggests getting away. NOT a Hall Pass. I am extremely blessed and happy in marriage. NO poon chasing; period. Just looking to have some clean fun and maybe even drink a beer or three.

F/A rentals on list, but not necessary.

Anyone going to be in town?

Advice? Will stay at nice hotel and enjoy good food and drink.

Can bring some TSC worked Sp5K's, AR's, suppressors, and a good attitude.

Any help appreciated.

So you're going to the SHOT show? Hotel will be sparse and rate will be doubled, at least at the nice hotels.

Oops, SHOT is 2 weeks out.

If I could stay anywhere I would choose Venetian. They are all suites though. I just enjoy the Grand Market area and canals.

I still get emails from Wynn and the deals on rooms seem really good. I hear the days of cheap food and hotel rooms are over though. I used to stay at the Imperial Palace for $29 or $39 a night.

I have moved to the East Coast, so my Vegas experience is probably 12 years old. Off the strip I used to like The Orleans for cheap buffets and the Prime Rib Loft. Another buffet place is the Rio. From what I remember everything on the strip was big bucks, like $40-50 steaks and the same for buffets.

My buddy bar tends at Rounders, again off the strip. We used to gamble at Ellis Island, which is a major dump but I bet cheap black jack tables.

So many good choices; Venetian, Aria, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan would be mine for places to stay. Food, Delmonico for steak, Sushi Samba, Piero's Italian off strip (scenes from Casino filmed there for the old school vibe), Secret Pizza at Cosmo for a quick bite, Mizumi at Wynn for Teppanyaki is awesome, Mesa at Caesars and Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast off strip for arguably the best dim sum in Vegas.

Argentinian steak place - Fogo de Chao is WELL worth the cost. Favorite place for dinner!

Really like the hotel M. At the new end of the strip near the airport. Firearm friendly

Fogo is Brazilian. Unless the original poster has never been to one, I would not go to Vegas and eat at a place you can do at home. There are hundreds of delicious unique restaurants to discover.

Yep, my auxiliary/back-up memory (aka - my wife) confirms it's Brazilian - part of age and MCI kicking in:)

"I would not go to Vegas and eat at a place you can do at home." - We obviously have different "home" towns! Olive Garden and Red Lobster are fine dining here in the Midwest. True - there is a place north of here that probably has a Fogo (Chicago), but neither I nor any of my friends will step foot into any part of Crook County or Chicago.

True - LV may be a little less ccw friendly now following the mass shooting fiasco, but when I was there in October of 2017, it was amazingly friendly! Again - not so for Crook County and Chicago.

OP - enjoy your time there. I absolutely fell in love with Vegas and would return in a heartbeat. (Actually got married there last year - by Elvis!!!!!)

BTW - if you take the Hoover dam tour, you will pass through metal detectors. Pocket knives aren't even allowed!!!!

The first thing I do in Vegas is figure out how to get out of Vegas..

One of my favorite places is to head over to the ProGunClub in Boulder City. http://progunclub.com/ after a lunch at the Dillinger http://thedillinger.com/.. then I take my rental vehicle and head east into Arizona.

Wife and I spent five days in LV four years ago this week. We hit it between the "Concrete Convention" and SHOT. No problems getting an affordable suite at "The Signature at MGM Grand". Excellent facility. As for dining, if you can make it out to Henderson, NV, I highly recommend "Todd's Unique Dining". We had two of their signature dishes, Short Ribs and Grilled Skirt Steak, they were outstanding.

For excitement, I recommend doing the "Sky Jump Las Vegas" at the Stratosphere Tower. Do it first thing in the morning when you have a hangover. It will definitely straighten you up for the rest of the day!

Generally, the farther from the Strip the cheaper the accomodations.

I was stationed at Nellis AFB from 1983 to 1991 and can recall when food was actually cheap/reasonable at the many hotels and casinos.

Very nice. Great alternative and definitely a good spot for clearing your head.
