View Full Version : Does anyone like the CZ Omega trigger?

There are lots of systems to chose from these days.

In the DA/SA metal gun realm,
There are three from CZ.

I have the 75B old school cocked and locked safety, lower hammer down manually to decock down.

I have the BD it’s just a decocker down.
The all steel Tactical SP01 with suppressor height night sights is a hell of a deal at its price point.

I was looking for a compact version P01 and ran across an Omega version.

I like it better than the BD.

I have not owned and shot one long term,
Has anyone here used an Omega heavily?

Thank you.

Curious as well. I have a Pre B 75 and that sucker has the slickest SA trigger ever.

At some point I want the Shadowtac II

Have not used an Omega heavily. Check the CZ Forum, cuz the P01 Omega evidently has had issues.

I’ve owned CZs for almost three decades. IMHO, the Omega provides:

Better crisper SA OTB.
It is convertible (on most guns)
A tad easier to detail strip especially the decocker.
Thus a bit easier to service.

Cons:

DA is not quite a smooth. (Dual trigger bar is the reason).
The 75 series can be tuned to a higher degree.

This is the general case. All guns are different.

I do wonder how the triggers differ between metal framed models and poly models.

I suppose I will know in a couple months. Going to pick up one of the Urban Grey P07 to try as a carry gun for awhile once vetted.

Nonetheless, I will be watching this topic closely.

I like it a lot. It technically has a lot of pretravel and a ridiculously long reset. I like my p07's trigger better than the cz75b omegas. My biggest paranoia with cz pistols are the fragile trigger return springs and slide stop. Cajun guns has fixes for the reset and trigger return springs.

I bought two - a compact and a compact tactical. Both triggers were usable out of the box (coming from Glock 19s and Glock 17s). BOth are now at Cajun Gun Works getting enhanced. But they were totally serviceable right out of the box.

I just picked up a Po1 Omega with the suppressor sights and barrel.
It is in decocker mode out of the box.

I will compare it to my sp01 BD tomorrow.

I kind of wish they would do what Taurus did with the 92.
A single model with both capabilities.

I have 3 Omegas 75, 09 and my latest the P-01.

My 75 and 09 have thousands of trouble free rounds. The Omega is new and just a little over 500 rounds at this time so I can't attest to how it'll hold up. As someone mentioned above there have been some complaints of the decocker rotating upwards "somehow" while firing (seen on a youtube video) My biggest complaint is the slop between the right lever and shaft coming thru the slide. If I press on the right lever it will move just a shade before it engages and begins the decock function.
I bought the 01 because I like decocker but also like the cocked and locked ability.

You must have not tried a shadow 2 trigger yet?

If the "Omega" trigger/action is the same action that is in the P07, then I have it and love it. Probably have about 2000 rounds through it. I replaced the factory hammer spring with a Cajun yellow spring and reduced the DA pull quite a bit. The DA is smooth and SA is reasonably light.

I had a PCR for almost a year and between its trigger and the 07 trigger, I prefer the 07. The 07 DA is slightly shorter and reset seems shorter as well.
