We know the UK has pretty much allowed itself to be run over by the multiculturalism PC bus, but I thought Aussies didn't tend to go for that nonsense. Supposedly posted on a beach at City of Greater Melbourne.
If I/we have to alter our behavior that does not directly impact someone else due to anothers culture/religion, how is that not their culture/religion superseding mine? That's not multiculturalism, that's allowing, in this case, Muslims to dictate what food I/you ate and how the woman I went to the beach with can dress.
If you don't like what I'm eating or drinking or wearing at the beach due to your religion/culture, that's your problem vs mine.
Would we ever have a sign saying saying please don't mix meat and cheese as it could offend the Kosher Jewish community? Of course not.

A friend was there recently enough and mentioned nothing like this, though he did say that their cabbies are all shits to people with kids, and just ignore fares with little ones, as they don't want to bother installing the government mandated seat in their trunk.

Cheeky of them to put that it's a joint venture with the city council at the bottom. I expect city hall getting some angry phone calls for reasons they don't understand.
The funny part is that the Muslims I know could care less if we go to dinner and I drink a beer while eating a pork chop. They just won't have the same themselves. I always wondered about the religious ban on pork and postulated that there was a shortage of pigs at the time and the leaders decided to make pork verboten to everyone else so that only they could enjoy pork dishes.

actually quite understood in the day that many of the animals like that could get one really sick if not cooked proper or stored proper such as shellfish etc.. so was for health reasons
always learned that was the reason as it applied in those times and to this day sadly pork does have its issues when not cooked prepped stored proper etc.... again same as shellfish
would you want today 1 day old warm cracked oysters :) or pork that has sat out and rare :)

Yep. Like many OT rules, it had more to do with society than religious. But it was a convenient way to keep people safe. "Do this because god said so" is a lot more likely to be followed than "Do it because Joe said so" :jester:
I know a number of Jews who don't follow the old rules like this and a growing number of Muslims are the same was in the more "liberal" parts of the world like the US and Europe. Mostly just your Middle eastern Muslims are hardcore on this.

but then the country is the country like here but in the cities OH MAN liberal to a whole new level
kinda like here ? mixed bag but most the population is in the cities so yeah a huge majority are :) sadly my idea of hanging there for a year would not be as fun as it was in the 80s :)

Basically, God had a field day with scary animals on the end of the 6th day, and he put them all in Australia, probably thinking that the human race would never be dumb enough to move down there. I never really had a huge desire to visit.
Also you can catch Chlamydia from a Koala bite. Like, I thought it was BS. No way could such a literal teddy bear of a creature be diseased and mean.
Still, chicks with Aussie accents are hot.

If you have hypertension already, then you should probably watch your salt intake in addition to the meds your doctor has prescribed. That said, pork doesn't contain any more salt than beef, or any other meat for that matter, and has less than most. Pork is a very healthy meat. However....processed pork, such as in cured hams or luncheon meats may be high in sodium.
If you have high blood pressure, yeah...watch your salt intake. If you don't have it, salt is not going to cause it. Certainly pork isn't going to cause it.
