I need to remove it and have no idea how to do this. Is it able to be done in a home shop?

Thanks

ThanksYou need is a 3/32 punch for the bolt catch roll pin. This Wheeler Bench block will make it a piece of cake.

Thank you. I win the award for stupid today obviously. The plunger fell out as I was putting in the roll pin and I was distracted trying to get two kids to concentrate on homework.

The Brownells roll pin punch is no doubt great quality but crazy expensive.
Use some masking tape on lower to protect the finish from being dinged if punch slips.

I had a problem that required driving that roll pin out. The Brownells punch made it very easy. If you don’t mind scratching your lower or you’re extremely confident in your skills with a normal punch and some masking tape, go for it.

Best $16 I spent.

Get the Brownells punch, it is relieved to allow it to sit flat against the receiver. You need to drive the pin out front to back.

A piece of round toothpick makes a decent slave pin to hold the spring and plunger in till you get the pin installed.

I’m have this punch too. I still tape the receiver or punch to prevent scratching.
