It's looking like Tom Hardy will replace him.

In all honesty, once Craig is done, Hardy wouldn't be a bad choice for real. Especially considering the fact that it's been kicked around to have the next 007 be a woman.

Frankly... I'd say either bury it, or reboot as a Period Piece franchise. More faithful to Fleming's novels but massaged to better fit reality, storyline order, maybe clean up some of IF's more pornographic moments *stares pointedly at The Man With The Golden Gun*

Possibly two casts, rotating: one the '60s of Fleming's novels, the other with an older Bond and the '80s setting of Gardner's "License Renewed" series after a new M was ordered to shut down the 00 Section, alternating casts every other movie. "I've been ordered to shut down the 00 Section. So it's now the 'Special Section,' and you're IT, 007..."

Or maybe not, Gardner gets even darker and bleaker about the "everyone who gets close to 007 dies because of it" thing...
