Huh? Shilen is first a blank maker and then a retail barrel maker. It is possible -- no idea one way or the other -- that DPMS buys Shillen blanks and turns them for their own use. Could this be the question you are asking?

A friend has a 20 " barreled AR15 A2,it has been represented by his Gunsmith friend as a Shilen barrel.However on the under side of the barrel about midway is the DPMS .223 1/9 engraving.Ive contacted Shilen and yes you are right after all if it was their barrel they would say shilen.Im thinking it is a mis-representation by the Gunsmith.

Your friend should take that for a refund. Let's hope the friend gunsmith was simply mistaken. The gunsmith friend should have no problem providing such documentation if DPMS did in fact us a Shilen barrel. There's no way that I'd accept a DPMS marked barrel as a Shilen without documented proof.
