14.5 and 18 rifle gas question

Is the dwell time in a 14.5 mid length system the same as a 18" rifle length system? Also I might be moving to ND soon where its known to get very cold during winter and was wondering do bcm 14.5 midlengths have cycling issues in really cold weather? I know 18" rifle length rifles can have issues.

They are similar. I have a 17" rifle gas and it runs fine up here. I didn't touch the gas port.

Where in ND are you headed?

West Fargo. Its not for sure yet but right now I am in Georgia so I never had to worry about gas system and cold weather.

The 14.5 mid is an optimum configuration, while the 18" rifle is a bit short.

But with a mill spec gas port, it should run ok.
