Perhaps an alternative is the Daniel Defense flat-top upper. I am hoping they machine them themselves and not outsource the work to CMT. Anyone know for sure?
Best of luck on your build, and have fun.

I will ask Jay, but I am willing to bet they are not their own.
I would also like to add that there is nothing wrong with CMT receivers.

There is always the LaRue Stealth.

All the uppers we received from DD have CMT forge marks. One of them was stamped DD on the left side, all others appear the same as CMT, Stag, Bushmaster, ETC.

Other than like the VLTOR or MGI aren't flat-tops pretty much the same excepting the lo-Pro, t-marks, and m4 cuts?

LMT no longer sells them.

LMT also stopped selling component barrels.
I get requests and I break the uppers apart.
That's why I often have LMT receivers available.

I was not aware the LMT barrels were not available separately.
Anyone know why they made that change ?
It is my understanding that certain dealers were trying to pass non-LMT barrels and receivers off as the real deal so they could charge more for them.

I heard the same thing on the receivers, someone putting crap barrels on them and passing them off as complete LMT uppers.
I'll hazard a guess that the sales of seperate barrels was never very good as dealers were just buying complete uppers.
I have always bought the uppers and split them as needed.
I did not even notice when they dropped the M4 barrels until just recently.
Called Monica about it and all she said was that the only component barrels they sell now are MRP barrels.
