While they sat there eating, not unlike what happened in Vegas some years ago. No word on weapon used.
Sheriff: 2 Gilchrist County deputies killed while eating at restaurant
Two Gilchrist County sheriff's deputies were ambushed and killed inside a Trenton restaurant Thursday afternoon when a gunman walked up and fired through the window, authorities said.
Gilchrist County Sheriff Bobby Schultz identified his two deputies as Sgt. Noel Ramirez, 29, and Deputy Taylor Lindsey, 25.

"They were men of integrity, men of loyalty. They were God-fearing, and they loved what they did. And we're proud of them," Schultz said at news conference. "They gave their lives so we can all be safe."
The shooting happened about 3 p.m. at Ace China restaurant at the intersection of State Road 26 and East Wade Street.

First, and foremost, I hope their families can find solace in the line of duty and calling these men gravitated to.
Secondly, glad the POS ate a bullet and saved tax payers all the trouble. I just wish he would of just done that in the first place and saved so many people from the wave of pain from this loss.

If it were a criminal with a long rap sheet who got killed during a crime, there'd be marches as we speak. Doubt this gets more than a mention on the news. Straight up assassinated they were.

According to a New York Police Department memo, obtained by the New York Post, the directive issued was: “The police have been making too many arrests and it’s time to take the streets back and take out (shoot) a cop like we do in El Salvador.”
Same thing in Florida?

Does not appear so as dude checked out after doing that. It's a small town. Maybe they had prior history, not much details yet as to motive.

An investigation later revealed Highnote had walked into the restaurant.
“I’m not sure exactly where in the restaurant they were seated but they were inside the restaurant having a meal when they were ambushed," Sgt. Brett Rhodenizer told the Daily News Friday.
Highnote had no prior history with the Gilchrist Sheriff’s Office, authorities said.
“It appears he just walked up and shot them, then went to his car and shot himself. It’s inexplicable,” said State Attorney Bill Cervon, according to News 4 Jax. “People will want to know why, and we may never have an answer for them,” he added.

Manchurian candidate? Tongue in cheek every time I throw that out there but these "inexplicable" murders followed by the shooter offing himself is getting to be a common MO.
